The boat, particularly the cabin, was in awful condition. It was filled with junk and debris and pretty much unusable for anything. It smelled of urine too. Ugh. The vessel equipment was fine. It was okay staying topside an enjoying the sail. But even topside the cushions were gross and stained. I know these are older boats, but if you represent these vessels out for stylish charters, it is very misleading. Also, my tour was cut back from 4 hours to 3 hours due to an emergency. That's fine; things happen. But I have to see a credit back on my card for the change in sailing time.

Hello SD Sailing Tours, Sorry to give this rating. I am not the type to put this online but this request looks like it is your own company. We had a not so good experience on Friday's 12:30pm, 3hr summer tour. Myself and my guests are typically very pliable and can adjust to have fun in any situation however, the sailboat cruise which I expected to be the best part the weekend was the least enjoyable. - The captain arrived one and a half hour late. I did as was told and arrived 30 to 45 min early and therefore had to sit and cool our heels for appx 2hrs. - We had been hiking in the morning and planned the sandwiches on the boat for lunch. The lunches instead sat on the boat for two hours and despite our comments we did not gain access to them until the cruise finally got underway. - With empty stomachs and the the change to cruising my wife unfortunately succumbed to getting sea sick. I think it was from an empty stomach and spending all the time beyond the break water. - We were offered a bucket of beer due to the delay. Yet, I never saw that mythical bucket of beer. I had to dig in the cooler to find one Coors Light. After that it was basically water. - The cabin of the sailboat was filthy and there was crap floating in the cooler. The seltzers in the cooler were clearly leftover from some other cruise. My group were beer drinkers yet there was no beer other than Stella bottles. Again, never saw that bucket of cold Coors Light. - Also, upon departure I was provided a ticket to scan to ensure a $5 parking fee. This of course did not work and I was charged the full $20. By that time we just wanted to get away from the marina, get some real lunch and try to turn our day back into a positive. - I can typically have a good time in any situation but the 2 hr delay to launch, the extreme delay for lunch and the dirty boat created a major buzzkill for the day. Unfortunately your cruise was the least favorite part of my Chicago guests trip to SD.

My reservation process through GETMYBOAT was not smooth which is why I'm not 5 stars satisfied. Maybe booking directly with the company would be a better way to secure a reservation. Once our reservation was secure, the trip went off without a hitch. We were celebrating our daughter's 21st birthday. I was told sparkling wine would be added to our trip. There was some on board, but Captain Rodger didn't have any notes regarding any of this. We enjoyed it anyways since it was offered 2 times prior to our trip. Captain Rodger was fantastic. He knew a lot about the harbor and the historic boats located there. He got everyone in our charter involved with sailing the boat. This was especially fun for our group. I would recommend this sailing tour to anyone interested in being on the water for a few hours.
