The captain was friendly. He also had a possessed a wealth of knowledge. My husband and I had not been sailing for more than 25 years. We realized how much we missed it. Thank you for a spectacular day!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! We have been on several other sailboat excursions in the past and were looking forward to a day on your boat last Thursday, especially after all the messages we’d received from you telling us how great the trip would be. However, what we experienced was no where close to what we expected.
1. Captain Roger showed up in a t-shirt and shorts. Nothing official about him said he was part of your company. The boat down below was a mess and often smelled like something was burning.
2. Captain Roger would share things if we asked, but for most of the trip he just sat and seemed to enjoy his day out at sea. He didn’t make much effort to “entertain us”.
3. He took us out to sea which was so choppy no one in my family could stay seated. He tried to just go back and forth several times, I assume looking for dolphins, but the ride was so rough even if there’d been any dolphins, we wouldn’t have been able to see them or take pictures, for having to hold on. Several times, my husband and I were very afraid of one of our family going overboard, or having the boat capsize.
4. During the terrible ride in the open ocean, he proceeded to go down below for a long while to use the bathroom. Once he returned, he tossed the boxed lunches and water bottles to us. He did not “serve our food and beverages”. Each of us could only eat a bite or two of our sandwiches because the boat was throwing us around so terribly, we couldn’t sit without holding on with at least one hand and honestly, none of us felt like eating at that point. Two of the box lunches were never even opened. Most of the water was spilled or we lost track of the water bottles because they were rolling all over the place. Captain Roger told us at the beginning of the trip he had beer and wine, but we were never offered it again.
5. For the amount we paid for this trip, we did not think it was appropriate to owe the captain a 20% tip. We paid over $800 but we still needed to cover “the bulk of his income” with another $160+? We tipped Roger as you asked for when we returned, because we were grateful that nothing terrible had happened, not because he had “worked hard to keep us comfortable, entertained, and safe.”
We had bragged up this trip to friends and family for weeks beforehand, but we will be sure to tell them all never to use your company should they be in the area. We will also never be back.
