Private Snowboarding or Skiing Lesson in Big Bear

Dave he’s nice but I think he’s good for older kids not for 5 years old

We did not know you did not have permit to teach on the smaller slope and would begin with the ski lift up the large slope and require us to know how to stop ourselves and get down a long ski run without any prior instruction. My beginner 9 year old became tired and overwhlemed when he kept falling as he tried to learn and not having someone right there to help him. We did not feel like the lesson was for a beginner level skier and it did not teach any basic skills before we went up the ski lift.

Needed more explanation of the basic principles of good snowboarding technique. Needed more basic drilling on key skills (such as skating on the board) and confirmation that I had these basic skills before progressing to the next stage in the learning process. Finally, all training (for a rank beginner like me) should have been done on the beginner’s slope as opposed to a normal green slope.

Jerad was great! Patient and fun. I was very satisfied.

We are very unhappy with taking a class from this company. We were starting from level 0 experience, thinking we would go over the basics. Dylan put us on a green level which felt like a blue and was an awful time. It took an hour and half to go down one mountain , falling the whole time and it was miserable. We didn’t learn anything from this lesson and I recommend going directly with a ski company from Big Bear. Save your money from this company!

I found the meeting off-site arrangement very difficult. I had never been to a ski resort before and had no idea how to get lift tickets, park, equipment, etc. I found myself running around for 3 hours prior to the lesson, trying to get it all together.... then the lesson went very poorly. I am not happy. My kids are total beginners. One kid didn't even make it 15 minutes into the lesson. She said she felt rushed, not prepared, and pushed to get on the lift too soon. She said that the instructor was harsh with her and didn't make her feel comfortable. She bailed on the lesson completely because she felt so uncomfortable and rushed. My other child only made it for an hour. Both kids felt like they weren't given enough instruction before going on the lift and were pretty unhappy with the experience.
