Beautiful Cenotes - Swimming in the cenotes and jumping off the cliffs was a lot of fun! The zip line was a lot of fun but very short.

Yucky and stressful - My first review disappeared! It was the only bad part of our trip! We should have been warned off by all the “no refunds!” Signs at the check in. We spent $125 and left in 30 minutes. They keep herding large groups of people into hot areas where you wait endlessly and offering to let you start the tour sooner if you pay extra. The water was so murky and dirty we couldn’t stomach getting in (especially after experiencing the clear the water at all the legitimate cenotes in the area. ) There was so much construction. It was loud and chaotic. They were digging new “cenotes” into the earth. So clearly his isn’t a natural setting. Every other place, without exception, had friendly and helpful staff. The staff at Tortuga felt threatening. Arguing with anyone who tried to ask a question as they were sent from one hot waiting place to another.
