The second in our 3-part series on becoming a beekeeper. In this class you will learn bee management strategies so that you are ready to pick up your bees and begin your new hobby with confidence!

Beekeeping 201 – Bee Management – 2 Hours - $60 pp or 2/$100
*Prerequisite of a prior beekeeping 101 class
We will demonstrate the various skills from hiving a package, feeding your colonies, how to recognize pests and diseases, preventing swarming and harvesting the honey. Every class includes an observation Hive Tour in the apiary and Honey Tasting!

Bee Nutrition – for all seasons (includes sugar syrup, pollen, dry sugar, fondant or candy)
Recognizing Hive Pests and Diseases
Pest Management – IPM Strategies and organic options

What's Included
Air-conditioned/heated classroom, 30 + bee colonies on site, instructors are Texas Certified Master Beekeepers.

Class is indoors, rain or shine.
Rules
This is a working apiary with live honey bees on site. Although a stinging episode would be extremely rare, it is possible to be stung by a honey bee when visiting an apiary. Please do not attend if you believe you have severe bee allergies or have ever experienced anaphylactic shock after a bee sting.

Beekeeping Classes: No Refunds. If you are unable to attend a class you are registered for, you may reschedule into another class on a different date by sending an email to Tanya.
