The river level was too low for tubing and no indication from anyone that this may be an issue. I walked most of the trip. I doubt that the water level went down this much since our booking a couple of weeks ago. It would have been nice to provide information on the website about water levels. I guess I could have gone to the stream gauge website used for flooding and figured it out before booking. I'll remember for next time, if there is a next time.
The website indicates lifejackets, waiver forms, and other safety info. There were no life jackets offered. At the "office" check-in, I don't think the waiver forms would have been taken if I hadn't offered them up. No instructions or guidance beyond helping us get in and out of the river with the tubes....so I guess it was good that we could mostly stand and the water wasn't really moving.
The bus ride was a bit fast for the bumpy dirt path, maybe the bus ride could have been a bit slower so that we didn't bounce out of the seats. My 50lb child was bouncing all over the place.

My family and I love tubing with Tar River. We have been several times now and have never been disappointed. It is the best experience we have had within the Raleigh area (and we have tried them all). Our favorite parts are the tubes with backrests and that the river is shallow enough to walk and swim in. The staff has always been great as well!!
