The National Palace, a historic site in Addis Ababa, was constructed in 1955 to celebrate Emperor Haile Selassie’s Silver Jubilee. Throughout the years, the palace has been the residence of Ethiopia’s leaders. More than just a structure, the Jubilee Palace is a vibrant symbol of Ethiopia’s royal legacy and a notable part of Addis Ababa’s scenery. Initially named the Jubilee Palace to honor the Emperor’s Silver Jubilee in 1955, it served as the main residence of Emperor Haile Selassie I. The National Palace Museum showcases Ethiopia’s rich heritage and treasures, including Ethiopian history and culture, the emperor’s collection of luxury cars and train wagons, as well as displays of royal regalia and artifacts.
Please note that tour guides, transportation, photography, and educational services are available. Entrance fees are approximately 20 USD per site or 20 USD per person. Additionally, each traveler is required to pay the driver.
