WOW! What a great experience led by a great guide! Never imagined that we would see the number of sloths we did…including Mom with baby, a juvenile who climbed down the tree to give us an up close and personal view of his eating habits and behaviors and even a rare look at a two toed and a three toed sloth side by side in the tree. Santiago treated us to even more.. pointing out the different trees, flowers and birds as we experienced first hand the importance of this preserved wooded corridor. The fact that this tour was on the University of Costa Rica campus ( right outside the city center of SJ) made it even more enriching as we got an authentic glimpse of life on campus…talking to some of the students and even taking in a meal at the campus soda after the tour. We are spending two more weeks exploring Costa Rica in much more rural areas but this experience and this guide will be hard to top! Just WOW!

We really enjoyed our Wild San Jose tour. Our guide, Ismael, was great. He is a very good naturalist, with a lot of knowledge and experience. We saw 6 sloths and a variety of birds.
