The tour was lead by Jim, a charming older gentleman with a wealth of knowledge of Sapelo history. He is a long time resident of the area well informed in the antics of some of the more colorful residents.

We were fortunate to have a guide that was knowledgeable about Sapelo history. His stories about the past owners of the island were interesting; it was good to learn also of the research being done there now that will benefit everyone. No doubt the full day tour would have enlightened us to more history of the black community that calls the island home.

Jim's tour of Sapelo Island was fantastic! He was well versed in the Island's incredible history and natural life, from the unspoiled beach to the woods and saltwater marshes surrounding Sapelo. I'd highly recommend it! Nina Brook, Colombia, SC.
