Historic Savannah Walking Tour

The tour as historically insightful and witty.

The tour itself was very interesting and informative. Chuck was knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories of Savannah's history. However, he was not wearing a mask, even though it is required by the city. He even spoke disparagingly about this health and safety practice, and encouraged his guests not to wear one. Thankfully, none of us listened, but it is disrespectful and a health threat to lead tours without one. He has no right to take away the choice of protection for his guests by not wearing a mask. He has no idea if he has the virus and endangers everyone he is around. I expect much better consideration from a professional. I will be leaving this same review on Trip Advisor so future guests can make a more informed decision about their own health and safety.

Joe was very informative and knowledgeable.

Seems like there is so much more to Savannah that was not too far off of the route taken that could have been added to tour. Oration felt a lot like an audio tour on my phone. Stop and this location and push play. More conversation while walking might have made it feel less so. Part of that may have been the group of people on the tour, but perhaps pausing at end of speech and asking for questions might have helped.

I always try to do a walking tour the first day I’m in a new designations imply so I can orient myself and learn about the city; Joe, did that and so much more. Not only was Joe knowledgeable with regards to Savannah’s history but he was also comical and seemed to really enjoy being a tour guide. Additionally, he pointed out some food and drink recommendations throughout the tour that were nothing short of amazing! Highly recommend.

The tour guide needs to wear a mask or shield so people feel safe. My family was uncomfortable the entire time and it set the wrong example for other folks who then took their off.

Chuck did a good job, we liked that tour.
