Setting Sail to Tortuguero

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I found myself on a motorboat, slicing through the tranquil waters of Costa Rica’s northern Caribbean coast. The anticipation of exploring Tortuguero National Park, often dubbed the “Tico Amazon,” was palpable. As a surfer, I’m no stranger to the ocean’s embrace, but this was a different kind of water adventure. It was a long day, but one filled with the kind of moments that linger in the mind long after the journey ends. For a surfer like me, used to the rhythm of the waves, this was a different kind of adventure, one that celebrated the rich biodiversity and vibrant culture of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.
