Highlights
  • Westerplatte - Westerplatte is a peninsula at the mouth of the Dead Vistula to the Gulf of Gdansk and the place where World War II began. Known throughout the world as a place where on September 1, 1939 at 4:45, World War II began. For Poles, however, it is above all a place of heroic combat of the crew of the Military Transit Depot with 18 times more numerous and much better equipped German forces.
Nowadays, it is renowned as a memorial site with ruins of blockhouses and barracks, as well as gigantic monument raised to the memory of 128 heroic Polish soldiers under the command of Major Henryk Sucharski. He held off for a full week against 3500 attacking German soldiers. The memorial site is covered with countless information boards, all in English.
Our English-speaking driver will pick you up from a hotel / apartment or anywhere in Gdansk or Sopot and take you in a luxury car for a 2-hour tour of this amazing place. After the trip, he will take you back to the place you indicated.
