Thank you DeWayne for an amazing tour. The history of the African American community should be honored and cherished. Your work is helping to do that. We were so impressed with your enthusiasm and commitment to this story. Learning about the struggles of your people in the past as well as their continued challenges was eye opening for us. It is wonderful to see how you are working so hard to help all those around you and to carry on the rich traditions of your family. Your idea for this kind of tour is extremely valuable to help us learn and understand our past. We wish you all the best as you continue your work as a community organizer, teacher, and an inspiring "tour guide".

We have been in Asheville around 7 years and had little knowledge about the history and present status of our African American neighbors. The tour was well done and a great start for our commitment to become better neighbors.
