It served as the Mughal capital for 14 years before being abandoned due to water scarcity. Constructed from red sandstone, it blends Hindu and Mughal architectural influences. Even today, the entrance to the fort is via the road Akbar built, leading to the Buland Darwaza, a massive 54-meter gateway.
