Good couple of hours with friendly tour guide in the only production salt flats in Lanzarote - The tours run each day and we chose the 16:00 one. Our group consisted of me and my wife and 5 other people who were French. The tour guide described the history of the salt production at that site and also throughout Lanzarote. We were able to walk around the pens and canals and inside a renovated (but non-functional) windmill pump. This is one of seven originals, and there are two that have been renovated. The tasting session was inside, in the shade and consisted of wine or fresh water, tomatoes and various flavoured salts. Interesting tour, friendly tour guide (Jus) and the fellow guests were chatty as we practiced our French and they practiced their English spoken language. Very enjoyable few hours out with a gift at the end. We can recommend.

Incredible guide! - Very complete tour with salt tasting at the end, it is very interesting to learn about these salt flats and be able to walk through them. We especially want to thank our guide Martín for giving us an incredible visit, it is clear that he is passionate about his work! He answered all our questions and explained the operation and history of the salt flats to us with great care.

Unique experience - We visited on a Saturday afternoon in early June and surprisingly were the only ones on the tour so we got a very personal and relaxed tour. Most other visitors just went to the shop / bar and admired the views instead. Our guide was very friendly and provided an overview of the history of the site and production of salt and we were able to taste different varieties of their salt with cheese and tomatoes at the end, which was delicious. You are naturally exposed to the sun and the paths are a bit uneven but it is accessible to most and is certainly worthwhile if you want to gain a unique experience and insight. For those not interested in the tour, it is worth visiting just for the views and there is a lovely black sand beach (with a large free car park) a couple of minutes drive further down the road which is worth a visit too.

The best decision I made on the entire trip, and it was a very pleasant surprise - I was here in April 2023 (Tripadvisor won't let me set that date), and it was a total success. When I finished eating at El Golfo, I was wondering where to go, and decided to visit Las Salinas. The truth is that I don't regret my decision at all...in fact, I think it was the best one I made on the entire trip, and it was a very, very pleasant surprise. Since there was no one there, I did the tour alone with Martín, who is a wonderful guide (he knows a lot, makes it very enjoyable, and is passionate about his work), and an endearing person (his friends Laia and Nicoleta too). I hope you are all great, and that we see each other again soon. A hug from Guille (from Alicante) ;)

Experience 10 - An incredible experience, we found the tour very interesting and we loved all the information on the history of the salt flats. Highly recommended to go with friends, family, partner and have a good time ending with tasting their wines or beers. It is advisable to buy some type of salt from the wide variety they have at the small store. Experience 10 in every sense!

Great tour! Such a unique experience - I booked in a last minute tour of the Salinas de Janerio through Tripadvisor and got a booking confirmation email immediately, but it said something about the email not being a ticket so I was a little confused. I decided to wing it though and it all went fine when I arrived. The guide checked for the booking on the system and said everything was good to go. There were only 5 people: a family of 4, and myself. Our guide (I think his name was Antonio?) was very friendly and spent a full 2 hours telling us about the salt pans and the history of the area in English and Spanish. He was very enthusiastic and happy to answer questions. We got a chance to go into the gated part and walk between the salt pans, see the windmills and reservoir, learn about the production, and taste some different salts. I really enjoyed the entire experience!!

Highly recommended! - The visit is totally worth the price (EUR22). We had the chance to have Martìn as our guide, a very knowledgeable, friendly, and fun guide who's super passionate about the salines and his job. He spent almost two hours explaining us in details the history of the salines and the salt production process both in Spanish and English. He answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make the visit interesting and pleasant. At the end, we were offered a glass of wine and a salt tasting. I highly recommend this experience! Thanks Martin 😊
