DARJEELING TO DHOTRE DRIVE (2HRS) FOLLOWED BY DHOTRE TO GAIRIBANS TREK

DARJEELING TO DHOTRE DRIVE (2HRS) FOLLOWED BY DHOTRE TO GAIRIBANS TREK
Singalila National Park - On the first day, the guide will pick up the group early in the morning from the hotel. The journey begins with a 40 km drive from Darjeeling to Dhotre. After an hour’s drive, the group will arrive at Maneybhanjyang, the border between India and Nepal, where passports must be shown to security personnel. Maneybhanjyang is also the breakfast stop. After breakfast, the drive continues for another 13 km to Dhotre, a quaint forest village located between Rimbik and Darjeeling. The trek starts from Dhotre, following a gradually steep trail adorned with Rhododendrons halfway. After approximately a 2-hour trek, the group will reach the India-Nepal border and, after a short walk along the Jeep Road, arrive at Tumling, a small Gurung village on the border. The destination for the day is Gairibas, passing through Tonglu, Tumling, and Jaubari. The total trek distance for the day is 12 km. Lunch will be provided along the way. Upon reaching Gairibas, tea and snacks will be served, followed by dinner.
Tonglu - Tonglu is the second highest peak in Singalila National Park.
GAIRIBANS TO SANDAKPHU TREK (3636MT / 11929FT) 4/5HRS
Sandakphu - On the second day, the guide will wake the group early for a sunrise view. Gairibas is renowned for bird watching and as a red panda habitat. After breakfast, the trail ascends through a dwarf rhododendron forest to Kala Pokhari, meaning black lake. This route is rich in Primulae species, Inpatients falcifer, Owl-eyed Impatiens, Sorbus, Pyrus, Enkaithus, and Roscoea alpina. Lunch will be at Kalapokhari, followed by a trek to Sandakphu, which is another 4 km from Kalapokhari. In the evening, tea and snacks will be served, and the guide will lead the group to a sunset viewpoint on the Nepal side. Dinner and an overnight stay in Sandakphu will follow. Trek Distance (13 km). Day 2 concludes.
