Highly recommend it - I highly recommend this tour. Gawel was a great tour guide. Without a tour, it is difficult to understand this part of Warszawas history. To prevent history repeating itself, it is important that we never forget about it. Taking this tour and learning about the fate of Jews in Warszawa is an important part of this.

Recommended guided ghetto tour - Magda was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and energetic. 2.5 hours outside in cold weather could have been hard in less capable hands, but we left satisifed. She was good at explaining and telling stories, made the history understandable and relatable. A guided tour is recommended, as there is next to nothing left of the original jewish ghetto, and it would have been hard to visualise without help.

One of the worst tours I've been on unfortunately - I really don't like writing bad reviews, especially since I respect guides for their work. I usually would choose to not write one at all if I didn't like it, but this tour crossed a red line in my eyes. I took the Jewish Warsaw tour (with a guide I won't name here) and it was probably one of the worst tours I've ever taken. No offense to the guide herself, I'm sure she is a great person, but she is unfit in my opinion to be an English-speaking guide for anything related to Jewish history.
There were 3 main problems I had with her guiding quality, and I'll state them from least bad to worst:
1. Her English - while good enough for conversation, is insufficient for guiding. She would often describe complex ideas about the ghetto, the Holocaust, or the Nazis in such basic language that it came off as childish and reductive.
2. Her narrative - became more and more disjointed at each stop, as she would jump from one point to another and then back to something she had forgotten to mention. This got worse as the tour went on and, in addition to her basic language, made it hard to follow her story if you didn't already know about the subjects she was talking about.
3. Her credibility - is by far the worst part, and why I decided to write this 1 star review. She simply doesn't know enough about Judaism, the history of Polish Jews, the ghetto experience, and the Holocaust. I'm talking about hard data. In several instances, she gave completely wrong facts when talking about event details/years/numbers of victims/people. You could see from her body language that she wasn't sure about everything and she would doubt her own words. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when she struggled to explain who the Judenräte were, first claiming they were Polish (non-Jewish) before correcting herself. That is not only ridiculous, since the whole point of their existence was them being a Jewish council, but it is even in the name itself. (Juden = Jews, Rat = Council.)
I am Jewish myself and I have learned quite a bit about this dark part of history. One of the biggest problems we have in the world today is Holocaust denial. There are people nowadays who push this agenda and would use any wrong detail given to them as ammunition for their conspiracies. This is why Holocaust-related tours always have to be 100% factual. You can't just make things up if you're not sure. Not on this tour.
The guide told us she has been guiding in Warsaw for 10 years, but I find it hard to believe that her tours have had anything to do with the Jewish experience. It almost seemed like (and this is just my assumption) that she was brought in as a substitute for another guide that couldn't make it. Maybe she is just used to guide Poles in Polish about general Polish history. If that's the case, I recommend that she either dedicate a substantial amount of time to researching Polish-Jewish history and the Holocaust, or stick to the tours she is used to giving.
I did tip her at the end of the tour because I wouldn't have felt right if I hadn't. I would not recommend this tour, or the company, until they take this matter more seriously.
