Highlights
  • Warsaw - Drive to GierÅ‚oż takes around 4 hours 30 minutes. It’s a chance to experience the Polish countryside and ask your guide all the questions you can imagine. He’s your host, and his passion is to make you understand Poland, its history and its spirit. So don’t miss that chance.
  • Wilczy Szaniec - Wolf’s Lair was the most important of Hitler’s headquarters, hidden in Masuria, a region of Northern Poland famous for its 2.000 lakes. It was the perfect place to set up an inaccessible complex of bunkers with lakes and swamps blocking its access. The complex, which would become one of several Führer Headquarters located in various parts of occupied Europe, was built for Operation Barbarossa’s start – the invasion of the Soviet Union – in 1941. The top-secret, high-security site was in the Masurian woods about 8 km from the small East Prussian town of Rastenburg (now KÄ™trzyn in Poland). Three security zones surrounded the central complex where Führer’s bunker was located. Despite the security, an assassination attempt against Hitler was made at Wolf’s Lair on 20 July 1944. On the 25th of January 1945, due to the Red Army’s rapid advance, the complex was blown up and abandoned.
  • Wilczy Szaniec - The tour takes around 2-3 hours of walking. You will visit the complex with your guide or with audioguides.
  • Gierloz - One can find an excellent eatery in the former guard’s garage where classic Polish cuisine is served. It’s a good idea t take a 1-hour break and refill before the drive back to Warsaw. Food is not included in the tour price.
  • Warsaw - Transferring from Wolf’s Lair to Warsaw is the next chance to chat with your guide. And don’t worry - these 4,5 hours will pass quickly.

Take this tour! - If you are interested in WWII, you have to take this tour. Marcin is the ideal guide - an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and funny companion. He took us to parts of Wolf's Lair (the outer zones) and Warsaw that we would never have otherwise seen. Travelling with Marcin is a great way to understand the architecture, history and culture of this fascinating country.

Old men on tour - Marcin is the best guide in Poland! His knowledge is the best and his warm friendly approach is an example to the Polish people! His enthusiasm for all of the Polish cuisine was inspiring and showed an epic constitution. Highly recommend for private tours across Poland as well as half a day across Warsaw. Cheers Marcin!

Much Better Than the Movie - My friend and I went to the Wolf's Lair on a tour with Marcin. If you are interested in the eastern front of WWII, you have to take this tour. Although the building were destroyed when the Nazis retreated, everything else, including the remains of the buildings, is still here. The isolated forest, the paths through the woods, and the old railroad lines remain. You can trace Stauffenberg movements from where he armed the bombs in Keitel's bunker to where it exploded at the conference bunker. You can see the road that Stauffenberg drove out on and the train platform where Hitler met with Mussolini later that day. For those interested in this dark chapter of history, you will be overwhelmed. Marcin drives you to Wolf's Lair from Warsaw and gives you the background on that part of East Prussia, which is now part of Poland. He'll help you understand the history of the massive migration of Poles and Germans from the east to the west following the war. But the great thing about having Marcin as a guide is his total passion for what he does. In addition to the Wolf's Lair, he'll take you a little off the grid and show you the bunkers of some Nazi bigwigs, such as Albert Speer, which are not in the current Wolf's Lair site. And then he'll take you a lot off the grid, to the intact bunkers of the German Army headquarter in East Prussia. You can follow the footpaths between the these bunkers (some of which belonged to the plotters) and through the forests to the railroad tracks, and you'll end up on one of the Mazurian lakes. For those who are interested in this obscure subject, I couldn't recommend this trip more highly.

Marcin was an incredible guide! Go see the Wolf’s Lair - Marcin was an amazing guide for our full day to the Wolf’s Lair. He gave us a detailed explanation all about the history of Poland and the Nazi occupation in World War 2. He stopped several times during the long ride so that we could use the bathroom and get something to eat and drink. The car was comfortable for the long journey and he was an excellent safe driver. If you have any interest in World War 2 history I highly recommend this outstanding tour.

Wolf Lair Review - This was a fantastic tour - a truly wonderful day. Both Martin and Jadwiga were fantastic tour guides. We saw so much and our tour guides were very personable and very knowledgeable. Martin exceeded our expectations even more by taking us to a small town to see German bunkers that were not destroyed at the end of the war and took us to a waterside town for a lively dinner.

Bucket list Adventure Hitlers Bunker - A bucket list adventure. We had seen many films about the wolfs lair and Hitlers Bunker system, and were interested to see it for ourselves. It exceeded our expectations. We were picked up exactly on time by Marcin, in a very comfortable mini van. The journey up takes you through countryside. Interesting to see the style of architecture change as we went through polish then into the Marsaurin lake area which has German house styles. The trip takes 11 hours. Four hours to drive up and 3 hours to walk around the bunkers and woodlands around the bunker complex. Before coming back as the sunsets over the fields. The guide was knowledgeable and took us into areas where only guides can go. After we had a great authentic polish lunch and talked with our guide about what we had seen and swapped ideas. A totally immersive day discussing WW2 and the impact on Polands history from a Polish perspective.
