Worth the Drive - Jorge is an excellent guide. He is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable on many subjects. We had good conversations on the way to and from Porto. This trip makes for a long day, but is worth it if you are making a base of Lisbon and want to see another city and different landscapes in Portugal. Rest well the night before and wear extremely comfortable shoes with grippy soles. Jorge has devised a route through Porto which minimizes the amount of uphill walking if that is of concern to you. Since drive time to Porto totals 6 hours of the day, while in Porto, you are shown highlights of the city. It is plenty to get the feel for Porto and the Douro River boat ride provides a nice perspective of the city. On the drive, Jorge asked questions about our interests and was able to work them in to the tour. Be aware that in certain times of the year, lines are extremely long at many of the historical sites. We opted to skip those with long lines. We really enjoyed meandering through some of the original narrow streets, many of which felt like secret passages. We had a grand adventure with Jorge as our guide!

Beautiful old city - Beautiful old city, but very crowded with buses full of tourists making it difficult to walk through the city.
