An unforgettable 5 day/4 night experience - We had a wonderful time! Our guide, Ali, and the incredible team of Chef, Assistant Chef and Porters looked after us like we were royalty. The food was amazing (my vegetarian needs were really well catered for). Ali is passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. We actually did the 5 day/4 night trail (notavailable from the drop-down menu). So glad we took this option as we had time to really relish the experience.

Amazing Inca trail thanks to Action Peru Treks - We spent 3 weeks in Peru with our children aged 11 and 13 and absolutely loved the time spent doing the Inca trail. Although at times physically challenging, Christian (our guide) always made sure we went at a pace that was enjoyable and kept us entertained with stories about the Incas. The porters were amazing!! We cheered them on and they cheered us back whilst overtaking us at pace, with their loads and a smile! Alver (the chef) was particularly impressive. The 4 course meals that he managed to put together in the middle of nowhere were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. I am very glad we took the time to see Machu Picchu this way and Action Peru Trek were the best people we could have done this once in a lifetime adventure with.

Amazing, safe, clean and fun - Hipo, Andres and Cirilo were an amazing crew. Hipo made sure to keep us on track and was able to recognize when we needed breaks. He was also very knowledgeable about all the history and was a great story teller. Andres is an amazing cook and I ate like royalty the 4 days I was in camp. I can't cook as well as Andres does with my own stove and he is doing it on a camp grill! My amigo Cirilo and his crew not only carried so much for my crew, but made sure we felt safe. Each one of them had stories to share and were so fun to speak with. Each helped me with my spanish and showed me beautiful sites. I have never felt safer and more cared for than I did with this crew!

The best way to trek the Inka Trail - My partner booked our trek to Machu Picchu with Action Peru Treks, mainly because they were a Peruvian company and had good feedback. We found the actual trek hugely exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Ali Mesias Huaman Gutierrez went above and beyond to ensure that we had a perfect experience, and explained all of the Inka sites along the trail as well as Machu Picchu. The porters were amazing carrying our belongings and the whole camp across the mountains and setting up before we arrived. The Chef provided us with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks that would not be out of place in a top class restaurant.

Amazing Inca Trail Experience with Action Perú Treks - We just did a private 5 day Premium Inca Trail tour with Action Perú Treks and it was the most amazing and challenging thing we've ever done! Our support team was absolutely outstanding, from our guide Ali, to our team of porters, everyone could not be more welcoming and encouraging. Our head chef Andres really worked his magic on this trek and made us plate after plate of delicious food for the 4 days of trek. Big shoutout to our guide Ali who not only gave us some really great history lessons during the four days and also was most encouraging the whole way. Highly recommend Action Perù Treks if you want a great experience on the Inca Trail.

Phenomenal experience from start to finish - To date, this is the most amazing experience I have ever had in my life! Truly it is. From our initial inquiries with Roxner, owner of Action Peru Treks, to getting our hike scheduled, and then the hike itself, everything went beautifully. Action Peru Treks is the only local company offering these excursions. All the other companies are foreign owned, some in the United States. APT takes great care of their porters, and it shows by the smiles on their faces and their friendly attitudes. Super, super great gentlemen! We began our hike on April 2, 2025, which is the end of the rainy season, though we did experience a couple days of rain, mostly in the mornings, trickling off by late morning/early afternoon. Lino was our guide, and he is super knowledgeable about the Inca Trail, all the ruins along the way, including Machu Picchu itself. Lino is super passionate about sharing information, often times raising his voice and extending his arms when speaking. He has completed this hike over 700 times, and knows the trail intimately, often times letting us know what to was coming up so we could mentally prepare ourselves. He is also great with the timing, letting us know when we would arrive at our next rest area, or campsite for the night. The porters… These gentlemen are the backbone of this operation. They carried all of the equipment needed for eating, cooking, and camping, except for sleeping bags. They provided Thermarest sleeping pads, which were super comfortable, and four-person tents for each two-persons. They took care of setting up and breaking down the tents, so us hikers could fully enjoy the experience without all the work (though I was happy to help out when I could). We had nine porters, each carrying up to 58 pounds of equipment/food, etc. These guys are work horses, hiking the trail with ease, not using any assistance, such as poles either. A lot of the terrain seems a bit sketchy to hike on, though the porters are surefooted, sometimes even running up or down steps, which scared the crap out of me. Most of the rest stops included, locals selling food/beverages in case you needed a refreshment. Most also had bathrooms with flushable toilets and running water that could be used for one Sol ($0.27USD). One stop had a great assortment of beverages, including bottles of Jack Daniels and Jagermeister. Yes, you read that right. The food… Simply amazing! The food we enjoyed with rival that served at a very nice restaurant. No simple camping meals at all, everything was gourmet. To think that these meals were prepared with simple cooking equipment on a propane stove is absolutely incredible. I would have bet that they were sneaking away to a commercial kitchen to prepare our food, but I witnessed it myself each evening as they slaved away in the kitchen tent. Our last night we enjoyed a homemade cake signaling our success on the IncaTrail. How do you make a beautiful and delicious cake in a cooking pot over a propane stove? I have no idea. We said goodbye to our porters on the last night, finishing the hike with our guide the following morning. Upon arriving at Machu Picchu, we learned that our trail guide would also become our guide for Machu Picchu. Again, Lino did not disappoint. He explained beautifully key points about Machu Picchu. Again, his knowledge is incredible. I met so many people from different countries along the trail. It is such a cool experience to share this moment with others. Though we are all from different countries, we all share the same passion of being outdoors, exploring history. I can't say enough, good things about this experience. Again, our guide, and especially the porters, or key to this being such an enjoyable experience. I took over 800 photos during the course of four days, which is an indication that I really enjoyed this experience so much that I wanted to capture every possible bit of it. While this was a once in a lifetime experience for me, I do hope to repeat it in the next few years or so. I could see myself doing this every year, but time and money are of course a factor. Make sure to check out Action Peru Treks. They are the go to company for any adventure in Peru.
