Additional Information

Explore & Ascend: Nevado Qampa: Qampa, a snowy peak in the Vilcanota mountain range, lies towards the Southeast of Cusco City, within the Quisipicanchis province. It serves as an excellent introductory climb for beginners in glacial mountaineering.

We start our journey from Cusco in private transportation, heading south towards the Ausangate region, a three hours’ drive away. Upon arrival, we ensure all our climbing equipment is in order before meeting our arriero guides and their pack mules. The arrieros load our gear onto the mules as we prepare for this exciting Peruvian adventure.

Nevado Qampa, alternatively known as Jampa or Campa, is one of the most accessible and sought-after mountains in Cusco and does not necessitate prior mountaineering experience. The climb entails a glacier trek and, depending on the season, may include a minor rock-climbing stretch. The summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view that extends up to Salkantay, more than 200km towards the northwest.
