Historic, delicious wine tours and tasting - Great day with Levan learning about the 8000 year old traditions of wine making in Georgia. We saw clay pots being made by hand, which stand over six feet tall. Wine samples from three different places including a posh lunch overlooking the valley, and an afternoon with a small wine maker who grows in his own yard in town. Our guide, Levan, knew so much about the wine, country and people, he was a huge plus to the day. This tour is a great way to learn about the rich history--ask for Levan.

Best experience because of the great host Mr.Erakli - It was an amazing experience with beautiful wines . Mr. Erakli who is an amazing host and honestly I felt like I know him very well as he was very friendly and cooperative. I would say that must ask for him if you want to have a great tour.

Amazing experience - We had the pleasure of having Kakha as our guide for the day. We ventured in to mountains and visited a number of different places that produce local wine in the traditional method using a Qvevri. The first place we visited was a family run wine producer. They explained the Qvevri making process and tasted a number of wines and Chacha. The second place was another family run producer with a similar set up. We tasted 5 or 6 different wines and bought a couple as well. The lunch that was provided was delicious and needed at this stage having a few wines at this stage! The last place was more of a vineyard, tasting room and restaurant. We tried a further 4 or 5 wines and chacha, cheese and bread provided as well. Overall I could not recommend this tour anymore and Kakha was superb!

Incredible journey through Georgia's wine country! - First of all, if you are considering any trip or tour in Georgia, look no further than Real Georgia Tours. They are simply the best, owned and operated by Georgians who are knowledgable and passionate about what they do. Given our limited time in country, we had only planned on taking one trip, but we had such a great time we booked them for another trip -- through Kakheti, Georgia's wine country -- the following day. Kakha was our guide. He was extremely knowledgable, accommodating and friendly. He was very communicative and arrived well ahead of time to pick us up at our hotel. During the tour, Kakha shared stories with us about the places we visited and also about himself and his life in Georgia, the country's history and culture. With Kakha's ease and fluency in English, we had absolutely no problem understanding him and were very comfortable asking questions. Kakha was quite open to making unscheduled stops -- be it to look at carpets, take pictures or simply walk about -- and he did everything possible to enhance our experience. If you are looking for an authentic experience you will likely remember for years, look no further. Book now with Real Georgia tours, you won't regret it!

Amazing Scenery and Wine and Food - My wife, daughter and I were in Tbilisi for six days. Our daughter made the wine tour a Christmas present. And WHAT A FANTASTIC tour it was. Giorgi Davladze (George) picked us up from our Airbandb promptly on time and we drove through some of the most fantastic countryside up into the mountains. We arrived at the Shakarashvili Wine Cellar and were greeted by the owner of the winery, one of the few "old-style" ways of making wine. He makes large (2000 liter capacity) Qvevri, grows the grapes and produces great wine. We, of course, were privileged to taste the wine, which was drawn from one of the Qvevri (which was buried in the ground). What a treat! Bread and special cheese was offered as well. The next stop was a similar arrangement with the added delight of a fantastic Georgian meal, including freshly grilled pork which was stripped from a large metal skewer. Wonderful wines, side dishes, etc. were presented in front of a roaring fireplace. Delicious!! The next stop was a large hotel/winery which was located within about twenty miles of the Russian border. Again, great wine, beautiful view of the mountains (the natural barrier between Georgia and Russia) and various cheeses to accompany the wine. The best part was our host, driver, and now a friend - Giorgi. He was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and provided a fantastic day in the Georgian countryside. Prices in Georgia and especially for the tour are very reasonable considering the wide range of experiences, quality, and expertise. Note: Our daughter is not a "teen".
