Highlights
  • Freedom Square - Georgia is also a country of tea!
The history of Georgian tea goes back over 170 years. On a walk, you will learn how, thanks to a Chinese farmer, the tea growing industry was born in our country and how it was possible to keep the technology for the production of a natural product almost unchanged. Let’s talk about the special properties due to which the drink is not bitter and does not knit. And in a cozy tea room you will get acquainted with a large assortment of teas.

Tea ceremony
In the format of a traditional Chinese and Japanese ceremony, you will try several different varieties of Georgian tea. The tasting will reveal to you a whole range of new tastes and aromas, and our tea master will tell you how to choose and drink a herbal drink.

Walk in Old Tbilisi
You will visit the areas of the Sulfur Baths and Metekhi, see the Bridge of Peace and the colorful puppet theater named after. Rezo Gabriadze. I will tell you in chronological order about the history of Georgia from the 7th to the 20th century and introduce you to the most striking features of its centuries-old culture.

Additional Information

While Georgia is most commonly known for its culinary delights such as wine, khinkali, khachapuri, and Borjomi water, not many are aware that it’s a tea-producing nation as well. I’ll shed light on the inception of tea cultivation in the 19th century here, the possibility of chemical-free tea farming, and distinct characteristics of the local tea variants. Post the tea tasting session, I’ll guide you through a tour of the historical city of Tiflis.
