Highlights
  • Taroudant - In Taroudant, you have to go around the ramparts that surround the medina to discover the nine gates of the city. The oldest, that of Bâb El Kasbah, offers a beautiful view of the Pasha Kasbah, and the Taroudant gardens. A walk with a thousand scents, ideal for waiting for the sunset.
Visit the souks of Taroudant, and discover the little treasures hidden by the lovely stalls in the medina. The Arab souk stretches along Bin-Anzarane street: near the antique market, you will find superb jewelry, and very fine silver objects. At the end of this street is the Berber souk, on Place An-Nasr, where you can find all kinds of local handicrafts. A must-see: herbalists, olive and honey merchants.
The old town is home to many curiosities: at the western end of the city near the Bâb Targhount gate, you can visit the Taroudant tannery, and discover all the secrets of leather manufacturing. The workshops communicate with small shops where the prices are interesting! Very original, don’t miss the Chez Baba boutique, where you will find sandals and handbags of all shapes and colors .
  • Tiout - the palm grove of Tiout then becomes a welcome refuge. All year round, it is also the setting for fun rides on donkey and mule backs. It is reached in just over an hour from the Garden of Stars .
