Hmmmm - Beautiful train ride to see the Island, but dreadfully organised! Awful transfer from hotel in a vehicle with no aircon and very cramped. Driver was late so we had ro miss the first stop before the train, then on arriving at the train it was a free for all to get aboard!

History of St. Kitts - Very fun and informative, our guide took good care of us and spoke in detail about the history of the island. The train ride itself was bumpy but yet fun.

A Must See Tour BUT here are some things you need to know! - I am so glad we found this tour, it was so unique, fun and a great way to tour some of the historic sites in St. Kitts. It was definitely on the expensive side and with the costs of the ferry rides in addition, we paid a lot for this tour. HOWEVER if you book through a third party, I feel there is more information you should know that we did not! We stayed in St. Nevis. The tour is in St. Kitts. This requires about a 30min. ferry ride over to St. Kitts. Once we learned this (AFTER BOOKING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT EXPLAINED PRIOR TO) we caught a taxi downtown to the the ferry station from our hotel. It is very packed with local commuters and was not very efficient or timely. We had a 9:30 tour time, so we called ourselves getting to the station to catch the 8:30 ferry over. The ferry actually was an 8:45am departure and sold out of seats because of the local commuters being there in line and rushing to the window when it opened 15mins before departure to buy tickets. We didn't know what was going on, but they knew to rush to the window, no line, just a crowd of people trying to get a ticket at this window. We were panicking and called the company we set this up with and they said just get there on the next ferry. We ended up taking a barge over that was not an actual ferry. No one was really helping us and very territorial on taking this certain ferry vs. the one we took. Either way, it was an hour ride over since it went at a slower pace, but we got there around 10:00am. The tour van picked us up an drove about 20-30mins to the train pick up location. It was a miracle they did not leave us, but there were a ton of people there just loading the train, so something tells me 9:30 was not the real departure time anyway. The van driver was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour was great with free drinks and a knowledgeable tour guide. We toured the island and all the old sugar cane locations, the carribean and atlantic oceans and more. It was all very scenic and wonderful! We got back from our tour at 1pm local time thinking we could get a ferry back over in a reasonable amount of time. NOPE...again not really helpful staff said the next ferry would be in 2 hours and we couldn't come inside to wait until the ticket window opened up. Another rush and mad dash, but we were prepared to be one of the first at the window to buy a ticket this time because who knows when we would've been able to catch the next one. Several local commuters again, only so many seats. This is what made the whole experience not 5 stars. If you are coming from St. Nevis, PLEASE be aware of the transportation needed over to St. Kitts.

SUGAR CANE TRAIL - What a great tour. Hop onboard the old sugar cane trail and be driven through the sugar cane fields and townships of St Kitts where everyone waves to you even if they are working in the fields or at school. The train toots to let everyone know they are on their way. Its very informative as the host educates us on the slavery abolishment and the downward trade of the sugar cane business. During the ride you are supplied with drinks to keep you cool and that includes rum punch rum and coke rum and coconut rum and pineapple pina colada,s rum with rum and more rum or any soft drinks. There are also a couple of dancers come onto your carriage and perform some local dance routines. It is a bit expensive but well worth the trip.

Interesting but crammed train - The guide we had was very good but the train itself was slightly disappointing as it was too full with people crammed together on benches which meant you could not turn around to see the sights as the seats face inwards. The hostesses on the train were excellent and you could drink as much as you wanted so we ended up having a good time anyway.

HORRIBLE TRAIN RIDE - DO NOT GO ON THIS TOUR! The employees are rude, the entertainment is lackluster to say the least, not that you expect entertainment on an open air train ride. We were hoping for outstanding views. Absolutely none. Save your money and choose something else.

Terrible - First of all we were late getting to the train because our driver kept waiting for clients that never showed. When we arrived we went to last car went upstairs and it was entirely full. Wanted to go to another car but the lady in charge told people to move in tighter for my wife and I and another couple. We were like sardines in a can that could barely move. During the trip we could barely turn around to see our side of train. It was easier to look across the isle and that was pretty much the only view we had. They had dressed up dancers with store bought pajamas and ribbons as costume and jumped up and down no dance. We were happy to get back and off train. Come to find out the front car wasn’t even half full. That would have made a big difference. There only into how many people they stuff on the train for money. The scenery was not very well at least on the side we could see on.
