Gulmarg - After breakfast at the hotel in Srinagar, head to Gulmarg. Discovered by a Kashmiri poet in the 16th century, Gulmarg is renowned for its grassy slopes and wildflowers. In winter, it transforms into India’s top ski resort due to heavy snowfall. The Gondola Cable Car (optional) offers rides to Kongdori and the Apharwat range, reaching 14,000 ft for Himalayan views in summer and skiing in winter. Book the Gondola ride in advance online. Return to Srinagar by evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
SRINAGAR-KARGIL VIA SONAMARG & DRASS (230 KMS)
Sonamarg Hill Station - After breakfast, head early towards Kargil. Enjoy the stunning views in Sonamarg, then drive through Zodjila Pass to enter the Ladakh region. En route, see Tiger Hill, War Memorial, and Drass village. Arrive in Kargil by evening. Kargil, one of the two districts in Ladakh, was historically a major stop on the Leh-Srinagar route.
