Highlights
- Montserrat Mountains - We will leave Barcelona at 7am to arrive at Montserrat at 8am (60km). The trip is in a 7-seater car.

Monestir de Montserrat - At 8am we will visit the Monastery and the black virgin, “La moreneta” for free
On the afternoon tour, the first thing we will do is visit the Audiovisual, and at 4:15 p.m. we will board the funicular and at 6 p.m. we will see the Abbey and the Black Virgin, most likely for free - Montserrat Mountains - At 9:15 a.m. we will visit the audiovisual of Montserrat, where you can see the history of the mountain, the virgin, the monastery, etc.
- Sant Joan Funicular Lower Station - At 10 a.m. (morning tour) or 4:30 p.m. (afternoon tour) we will board this funicular that will take us up to 1000 meters high. Then we will return to the Abbey on foot

Museu de Montserrat - At approximately 11:30 a.m. you will have free time. One of the options you will have is to visit this museum with works by Dalí, Picasso, Monet. The price is 4 euros per person with a discount that I have (The normal price is 8 euros)
On the afternoon tour, there is no time to visit the Museum -
Barcelona - At 12:30 p.m. we will leave for Barcelona to arrive at 1:30 p.m.
On the afternoon tour, we will leave at 6:45 p.m. to arrive at 7:45 p.m.

Additional Information
Join us for a morning or afternoon trip to Montserrat Mountain! Experience it like a true local in our nearly private group tour (only for 6 individuals).
Morning tour: We get there before the crowd, giving us the chance to explore the monastery with no hassles or queues to get to the virgin. It’s absolutely at no cost when we get there early!
From there, we take a quick detour to view the monastery from a distance and progress to an audio-visual session where you’ll be educated about the history of the massif, the monastery, and the virgin.
Subsequently, you’ll have almost two hours to yourself. This is ample time to join me on the Sant Joan funicular ride that will lift us to a height of 1000 meters. We’ll return to Barcelona by 12:30 p.m.
(Note that the funicular doesn’t operate in January, February, and March)
Afternoon tour: We’ll get to the location at 3:30 p.m. and return at 6:45 p.m. The Monastery visit is free of charge. Included in the price is the audio-visual and the same journey outline as in the morning tour. The Sant Joan funicular ride is also an option.

Great Hosts allow for early arrival & good small group tour of Monserrat - Hosts were both great and accommodating and helpfull. Like the small group size. Host Offered early pick up to see Monks singing prior to 8AM. Trip got you up there early enough not only to see the Black Madonna above the alter in the Basilica but to pass by her up close once the Abby was open. The early arrival also allowed for funicular ride up men and peaceful walk up on trails and winding walk down BEFORE the crowds. Recommend this trip as hosts make it easy and pleasant!

Wonderful - What a fantastic tour. We saw the monks sing, toured up the mountain, did a few trails and had time to see the choir boys sing while still making it to the art museum AND getting some souvenirs. This tour is hands down the best bang for your buck, perfect amount of time spend on the tour to see it all and not be rushed. Albert was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining everything even in the car leading up to the mountains. 10/10 would recommend.
Unless you’re afraid of heights, then you should communicate that lol!!!

Highly recommended this... - Highly recommended this tour, you start early in the morning you the first one to enter Montserrat. Not that many of people easy to get to the Black and plenty of time to walk around.

A must see when you visit Barcelona - The views from Montserrat were amazing! Our guide, Albert, was friendly, helpful and insightful. He brought the history of the monastery alive with his knowledge and stories. He was very personable and made the visit enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour next time you visit Barcelona.

We really were first and lots of free time - Fantastic option to see Montserrat! We really were the first tourists there and it was great beating the crowds to get basically private views of the Black Madonna and the basilica. Lots of free time to explore all the sights including the museum and some hiking. Excellent guide, great communication in advance, very knowledgeable about Barcelona and Montserrat, organised for us to see the boys choir and even did the hike with me. Hotel pick up was an extra convenience too!
Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone planning to visit Montserrat.

Picturesque view - Amazing view from Monserrat mountain top & abbey. I’m afraid of heights but the trip was truly worth it. And we got to hear the monks sign. Definitely recommend this tour.
