Chris is the best guide - Chris was a really good guide, everything happened as planned. In the city he talked about every mentionable house and also he gave us a good overview about Plovdiv. It was a really good tour!

Bulgarian Pride - The city of Plovdiv has been a discovery: Bulgarian history, art, tradition and pride. Nice to visit you. And the excursion with Hristo was very interesting, with good pace (neither slow nor fast) with useful and relevant information. A very professional guide. All perfect, in a word. A but: in the end there is so much to see that the return at 15:15 is a short time ago.

Amazing day out, a must do, with brilliant guide - Plovdiv was very beautiful and has a lot more history than people probably realise. So if you like history, this trip would be perfect. But also, some amazing sights and views and with the guide, we saw more sights than we probably would've if we were on our own. On this trip, we had a nice long walking tour, about 2 and a half hours, and then an hour and a half free time afterwards, but that's all that would be needed because we covered a lot of Plovdiv with the guide. Going this time of year was perfect as it was hot but not super hot, and it was like a slightly cheaper Greece. The ancient theatr of Philippopolis was unbelievable and was definitely worth going to, it only cost 5 Lev to enter and was 100% worth it. Our guide gave us the option to follow on the walking tour or not, as long as we met back at the end meeting point which was nice to have that freedom, but we felt the tour was worth it, though some people did do their own thing. He also had some pictures, facts, sheets, activities for us as a group, which was a nice touch, made it interactive and a lot more visual. Todor was a brilliant guide, with good knowledge and was a very nice guy. If you're in Sofia and have a spare day, definitely go to Plovdiv. Several people we met in Sofia before going on this trip, did highly suggest Plovdiv.

A worthwhile day trip - It was well organised with an animated guide who kept the energy going all day. The visit was all too brief but an excellent taster for a return visit in the future.

Great Tour of Plovdiv, Just Wish We Had More Time - It was a great tour. I didn't give it 5 stars because the time allotted in Plovdiv was too short. I didn't have time to visit museums and historical houses. The old town is charming, picturesque, and has a rich history. I was very pleasantly surprised by such a beautiful old town. Our guide Martin is very knowledgeable about the history and I learned a lot from him. The itinerary covered all the important points of interest. He is responsible and caring. Definitely recommend this tour.

Trip to walk - This is an average trip. The place has some interesting things but not an exciting town. There is lot of history spread around. Be prepared with comfortable shoes.

Worth going to escape Sofia - Overall, the tour guide was nice and friendly. However, I'd like to highlight a couple of points that downgrade my review to 3 out of 5: 1. Firstly, the road to Plovdiv from Sofia and back was silent. This time could be used to share more background information about Bulgaria's history and culture. In turn, the tour was mostly limited to Plovdiv's historic centre; 2. Secondly, there was certain misinformation spread concerning the monument to the memory of Soviet soldiers in Plovdiv.

Skip Mondays in Plovdiv - Don’t go to Plovdiv on Monday. Almost all the museums are closed. You are never provided with a full itinerary, so you don’t know what you will see or where the guided tour will start or end. It makes planning what to do in your free time difficult because you don’t know how much time you will have or how long it will take to walk there from where the guided tour ends. Hristo was a great guide and the only reason I rated this higher than 2 stars.

Poor - not what was expected! - Booked this tour as smartphone audio guide but was also told there would be a live English speaking guide too. We thought there would be an English speaking guide on the coach (as that is what it said) and the smartphone guide was for when we got to Plovdiv. Turns out they gave us incorrect information, we were put on a coach full of Italians, with an Italian speaking guide. Unable to understand anything, no english explanations given and unable to hear the audio guide during the journey, as the Italian guide was speaking so loud. Also falsely advertised on the site that admission tickets to the theatre and museum are included - this is NOT true. The company know this is incorrect information however do not tell you until you reach Plovdiv that you have to pay for those tickets yourself. Tried to contact Traventuria by e-mail however they did not provide a satisfactory explanation/resolution. Would not recommend.
