Additional Information

You may not be aware, but a significant proportion, over 60%, of the world’s rose oil production happens in a handful of quaint valleys in Bulgaria, nestled amidst majestic mountain chains. This adventurous full-day journey will take you through magical landscapes of rose, lavender, and sunflower fields flanked by the dramatic apexes of the Balkan Mountain. A knowledgeable guide will take you through the intricacies of Bulgarian rose oil production at a prominent distillery. Afterward, you’ll get to explore the sophisticated Russian-styled Nativity church and if time permits, you’ll head to the Shipka peak that offers stunning panoramic views. You’ll also visit the historic Thracian tomb of Kazanluk (UNESCO), built in 4th century BC, which is part of the valley’s treasures. During the ride back, you’ll take a different route, offering a new set of landscapes to admire. Your English-speaking driver will also arrange a small pause in Koprvishtitsa, a petite town that beautifully exemplifies Bulgarian Renaissance architecture.

Beautiful tour of the valley of roses, a great day out. - We had a fabulous day visiting the Valley of the Roses and Koprivshtitsa. It was an excellent tour.Chris was our guide and he had a great knowledge of yhe placescwe visited as well as the history of Bulgaria. He also gave a great social commentary about the way of life. We were so lucky to visit while the roses were flowering, it was amazing to stand amongst them and experience their beautiful scent and then see oil production. The Shipka monument and Koprivshtitsa were beautiful and the drive and the views were great.

Very pleasant trip! - Very nice trip that will take you to Kazanlak to see the Damascena Ethnographic Complex, an old Thracian Tomb, the russian church in Shipka... Our guide Kristov was extremely nice and since we were only 2 people, me and my wife, and we had already seen Koprivshtitsa he kindly accepted to change the route and took us to Shipka monument and Gabrovo. A very nice day with a nice guide, recommended!

A wonderful Day Tour arranged by Traventuria - It was a great great experience to The Valley of Roses and surroundings. Since we only stay for, we have urgently booked the car with Traventuria. Its a very big help on our travel. The drive(guide) "Angel", he has planned our trip very urgently, since we have no idea where to go. He helped alot and explain clearly on every spots. Its a great great day for us.

Best day tour in my life - Yesterday I took this tour with Traventuria guide Diana and driver Angel. We went to the rose fields and got to spend time learning about the roses, inhaling the rose scented breeze, and watch as roses were picked and loaded for transport to the distillery which was our next stop. Thank you for this special surprise, Diana! We went to many beautiful places and nothing was rushed or hurried, Angel just went with the flow and stopped for extra photo opportunities as everything’s in bloom. We were never herded or rushed. Kind and intelligent folks. Thank you!
