Palace hike - Walking down the well. The line was long and we were going to skip it but it moved quickly and it was awesome sight.

Fantastic site with great tour guide - Lovely experience! My partner and I visited Quinta da Regaleira for a tour at around 4.30pm, after a very rainy and foggy day exploring other parts of Sintra. QdR was the highlight of our day - stunning gardens, beautiful architecture and lots of magical little caves, wells, and tunnels to explore. Very dramatic and atmospheric in the wet weather! Our tour guide (Alex?) was very warm and friendly, and super knowledgeable about the history of the place, giving us lots of information and answering all of our questions, switching seamlessly between English and Spanish to accommodate everyone on the tour. He even took some lovely photos for us as we went round and gave us lots of time to explore as well - nothing about the tour felt rushed. The gardens and attractions weren't very busy when we went, due to the wet weather and late time of day (especially when compared to Pena Palace, which we had visited earlier and was PACKED with people, despite the torrential rain and fog) so there were no lines and we had the famous Initiation Well entirely to ourselves. We really enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent visit - We were very fortunate, because we had the tour on Tuesday and as we couldn't arrive on time they changed it for Wednesday without any charges. The guide was great, he gave us a lot of information. Also, the tour was very funny because of him.

Great experience. Glad we took a tour. - Alexandre was fantastic. Very patient and kind. My husband hurt his foot and was walking slowly. Alexandre never made us feel we were holding up the group.

Follies in Sintra - An interesting place. A series of follies and extensive gardens built in the early 20C [?]. The highlights are the 'Templar' Grotto reached by winding steps and the 'castle' which is small but very decorative.

A TOTAL SCAM - AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. 2 hours before the visit they tell us that there is no guide in Spanish, that the visit will be in English and Portuguese without giving us the option of refunding the money, changing the day/time...nothing. Even so, we are going so as not to lose the money we had paid. The guide who was there did not even have the flag color agreed upon in the messages. It started more than half an hour late, which later did not increase during the visit. The language didn't matter because the guide DIDN'T SPEAK FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES, he didn't explain ANYTHING, amazing, something truly unheard of, he took us from one place to another without explaining anything, a shame, a scam, a scam. The feeling of feeling cheated was tremendous. I hope that no one contracts with this company as there are so many others like we saw there that are cheaper and have real guides that explained the Quinta. He didn't give us a single piece of information, no dates, nothing at all... incredible. A disastrous experience that I hope no one else has to endure.

Very poor explanation - The place is beautiful and worth visiting, but our guide did not make it an enriching experience. He didn't introduce us to anything about the place, he didn't explain who the Masons were or link one thing to another. Furthermore, what it says in the tour description is not what is actually told. Much lack of detail and explanation. In the end we learned more from what we later searched on the internet than what the boy told us. You don't see everything there is there, and you are left with many areas unexplored. IT DOES NOT COST THE PRICE THAT THE GUIDED TOUR PRICES FOR WHAT IT IS, VERY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY GIVE YOU AFTER.

Very unhappy with the guide - Our guide was called Adrián F. The tour was very express, it gave very little historical context to understand the place. We feel as if he had read Wikipedia and told us. He only focused on explaining what can be seen with the naked eye and not even that because in one of the chapels, when explaining the exterior reliefs of one of the doors, he said: "Here there are reliefs from the Bible but since I have not read it I don't even have idea" which surprised us. In general, the visit lasted very little, about an hour later, we were halfway done. We were also surprised that when he said goodbye he told us that he was leaving because we weren't going to want to listen to him talk for two hours, but it's just what we wanted and what we had paid for, we thought. These are just some of the atrocities he said throughout the tour. In summary, we believe that it is a place that deserves a guided tour but for us specifically with this guide things have gone quite badly (with this we do not mean that the rest of the guides or the company are bad since we have only had this one experience, not We consider it sufficient to give an opinion on the matter).
