Jeongbang Waterfall - This iconic waterfall on Jeju Island is the only one in Asia that cascades directly from land into the sea. Visitors can enjoy dipping their feet in the water. The rock wall of Jeongbang Falls once bore the inscription “Seobulgwacha” in Chinese characters. Legend has it that an envoy of Jin Si-hwang visited Yeongju Mountain (now Hallasan Mountain) in Jeju Island in search of “Bulocho” and inscribed words on the rock wall, but a typhoon broke the rock. The area around Jeongbang Falls is rocky, so visitors should tread carefully. While descending the stairs is easy, climbing back up can be challenging. This natural wonder is the only waterfall in Asia that flows into the sea, and when the sun shines, rainbows often appear, enhancing its beauty.

Oedolgae - Oedolgae Rock (Lonely Rock)
Oedolgae is steeped in a poignant love legend. In a coastal village in Seogwipo-si, a couple lived with their child. One day, the father went fishing but was caught in a storm, and his boat capsized, leading to his demise. The mother waited on the beach for decades, hoping for his return, until she turned to stone. The rock resembles a grandmother holding a baby. When the father heard of this, he floated ashore and turned into a stone as well. His legs are submerged in the sea, and if you look behind the grandmother rock, you can see the grandfather’s feet.
- Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff - These columnar joints are quadrangular pillars that appear as if meticulously carved with a sharp knife, formed by the rapid cooling and contraction of thick lava flows. The hexagonal stone pillars, stacked like stairs, create a natural spectacle. The waves crashing against them are breathtaking, and during severe conditions, they can soar over 20 meters high. The Jusangjeolli Cliffs along the Jungmun-Daepo Coast are 30 to 40 meters high and about 1 km wide, making them the largest in Korea and designated as Jeju Island Natural Monument No. 443.

Yongmeori Beach - Located at the base of Sanbangsan Mountain, Yongmeori Coast extends to the sea and is named for its resemblance to a dragon’s head entering the water. The sandstone rocks, shaped over tens of millions of years by the waves, form a unique cliff. The hollow “oyster room” and wave-carved rock walls evoke a sense of history. The dramatic 30-50 meter cliffs, curving like a meander, have been featured in commercials and films.

Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road - Located on the northwest side of Jeju Island, Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road is known for its distinctive offshore wind farm. The white windmills and emerald waters along the winding shoreline offer a refreshing autumn landscape and an eco-friendly way to generate electricity. This road is also one of the most picturesque spots to watch the sunset on Jeju, so don’t forget your camera!
-
Hyeopjae Beach - Hyeopjae Beach is a must-visit on the west side of Jeju Island, often ranking as a top recommendation. Situated in Hallim-eup, Jeju-si, it is part of Jeju Olle Course 14 and is adjacent to Geumneung Beach. The sea’s emerald hue, as if painted into the clear water, is truly healing. At low tide, the silver sandy beach, abundant with shells, stretches endlessly.

Handam Coastal Trail - Also known as Gwakgeum Olle Trail, the Handam Coastal Trail is a scenic path from Aewol Port to Gwakji Gwamul Beach. It beautifully complements the surrounding landscape. The 1.2 km trail runs along the coast, with waves splashing nearby. It was named one of the 31 ‘hidden unexplored places in Jeju City’ in 2009, highlighting its unique charm.
The trail features various intriguing rock formations created by hardened lava, and the winding path along the black rocks adds to the walking experience. Located in the west of Jeju Island, it offers stunning sunset views, adding to its allure.
The Handam Walking Coastal Path is a beach road frequented by divers collecting supplies. It offers a beautiful view and takes about 20 minutes to walk, earning it the nickname “the path of the divers.”
