Hamdeok Beach - As you stroll along Jeju Olle Course 19, you’ll encounter Hamdeok Beach, a place with an emerald gem. Situated in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, it’s also known as ‘Hamdeok Seoubong Beach’ due to the presence of Oreum (Seoubong Peak) nearby. Just 20km from Jeju Airport, arriving here feels like stepping into another world. The tall palm trees at the entrance, the emerald sea contrasting with the white sand, and the clear water with white waves that make the sand and seaweed appear transparent are truly captivating. Haenyeo Museum - The Jeju haenyeo are the resilient mothers of Jeju and serve as the spiritual backbone of its residents. Their community life is a model for humanity. The Jeju haenyeo established a merit-based community, making democratic decisions through discussions. They cared for the elderly and infirm, such as Halmang Badang and Geseok, and used their earnings to support society, including villages and schools. They also devised various methods to coexist with the sea, like beach sweeping, gold snatching, and dialysis. The culture of Jeju haenyeo was recognized for its significance and was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on November 30, 2016 (local time).

Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a prominent Jeju attraction, was formed around 5,000 years ago from an underwater volcanic eruption. It’s particularly famous as a sunrise viewing spot, considered one of Jeju Island’s top ten scenic wonders. Besides the sunrise, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone is also a fantastic trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages by crossing the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and Jeju’s local culture. Walking these paths is recommended to fully experience the area; reaching the summit provides views of the vast volcanic crater and the surrounding blue ocean. To complete the visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to watch the haenyeo (female divers) in action.

Jeongbang Waterfall - Seogwipo, encompassing the southern half of Jeju, enjoys abundant sunshine and warm temperatures, drawing tourists year-round. A popular attraction is Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of Jeju Island’s top three waterfalls. The water cascades 23 meters straight down the cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. Behind Jeongbangpokpo Falls is Waljong Art Gallery, dedicated to Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju decades ago. The gallery showcases his inspiring artworks, capturing Jeju’s beauty uniquely. Its strategic location and glass-walled second floor offer visitors a stunning sea view.

Oedolgae - Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a 20m high stone pillar rising from the sea. Standing alone, it was named ‘Oedolgae’. It’s also known as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’, with a tale of General Choi Yeong decorating it like a general during a battle against the Yuan Dynasty, leading to the enemy’s self-destruction. For the origin of ‘Grandma Rock’, read the legend below. The visible rocks and the life of Jeju people waiting for the sea’s bounty can be observed. These stone pillars are believed to have formed during a volcanic eruption. A chimney-shaped stone pillar, where surrounding rocks erode by waves leaving only strong rocks, is scientifically termed a sea stack. Pine trees naturally grow atop Oedolgae, creating a picturesque scene. Depending on the viewing angle, it presents a different appearance, showcasing nature’s beauty.

Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff - The columnar joints near the coast in the eastern Jungmun Tourist Complex, where waves crash against dark red hexagonal stones forming tall layers, are considered a natural gift and were designated as Natural Monument No. 443 (12/27/04). Standing before the joints, one can see waves hitting the stones and breaking into white bubbles, evoking the sad tales of stone carvers. Seongeup Folk Village - Seong-eup village is a historic town that served as the center of Jeonguihyeon for 500 years since the county (the location of the government office managing the late period). Originally, Jeonguihyeon consecrated Jeonguiseong according to the Tae-Jong 16 year (1416) Anmusa misprint in Seongsan-eup Goseong-ri. However, the county leaned too far east, causing administrative inconvenience, and frequent typhoon damage and external invasions led to its completion as a 13 Cheok-sized fortress with a total circumference of 2,986 Cheok, featuring three gates on the castle on Sejong in 5 January 13, 5 on east and west man. According to 「Tamna Sullyeokdo」 of the Sukchong 28 year (1702) Lee Hyung-sang Moksa, it was a thriving city fortress wall with no. 1,436 and farmland.
