James, is an expert at catching renowned fish species in Florida such as the Snook, Redfish, and the formidable ‘Silver King’ (Tarpon), in addition to others like snapper, grouper, and trout.
Hailing from the west coast of Florida, Capt. James has been reeling in sea creatures in the waters of Sarasota, Bradenton, and Tampa Bay for more than a decade and a half. He has a deep-seated enthusiasm for inshore fishing, and there’s nothing he relishes more than transmitting this love for the sport to other enthusiasts. Regardless of your age or proficiency, he is committed to helping you develop a fondness for fishing in Florida’s shallow waters!

Excellent Charter Fishing Trip - Captain James teaching our 2 sons how to fish, catching about 7 types of fish, speeding to 4/5 different fishing spots on his lovely fast boat.

Family fishing! - Was such a fun experience for the family. Even our eight year old had a blast catching snook and speckled sea trout!! Captain James was great!

Fishing trip oct 2023 - The guide was very helpful and always wanted us on the fish he was very prompt on keeping us baited which was a chore the three of us I’m sure friendly and helpful

Call Captain James - Captain James got us on fish from the very first cast! We got a number of snook and jacks to bite in the many areas he took us to in and around Sarasota Bay and Robert’s Bay. We had a party of four, including a six year-old and it was a great day. Lots of bait, no stress and easy going! It’s easy to find him at the dock at Hart’s Landing — there is free covered parking in the shade under the Ringling bridge if you are lucky enough to get there before a crowd — and easy guy to work with to get out on the water. A patient and professional guy who is punctual and flexible. Recommend!

Father - Daughter Intercoastal Fishing - James provides a great experience. He did a great job including everyone, directing, showing patience and providing a relaxing and enjoyable experience. His boat is meticulous. We really appreciated his work to make the trip great and for taking us to three different areas to fish for a variety.

Wonderful fishing trip for family! - James took us to 4 different sites. With his kind help and instruction, kids caught 12 big fish in spite of the cold weather. James was courteous and knowledgeable. Boat was spotless and had all necessary equipment.

Exceptional - James is a FANTASTIC guide. Calm, experienced, smart, and funny. Two things that stood out to me about James was One; his preparation to give those with little to no experience fishing a memorable experience. Two, was the care he displayed for the bay, his boat, and equipment. He demonstrated a consistent, outstanding color, and I have no doubt that others would feel the same.

Great day on the water - Capt Jim gave us a great day fishing. He put us on a number of productive fishing holes and we had a fun day. In addition, I am temporarily on crutches - he was helpful and cautious getting me on and off the boat. Also, when I had a fish that wanted to go behind the boat, he was quick to maneuver the boat to help me out. As I said, a great day!

5-star Fishing Trip with Family - Our family enjoyed a fantastic fishing adventure with Capt. James. He was very patient, upbeat and energetic with our family, including our 7 and 11 year old. Lots of smiles. Every one caught some fish (except me - how is that fair? Ha!). Did I mention the manatee? We are already looking forward to returning next summer and going on another adventure. Thanks, Capt. James!

Terrible experience - Terrible time. My group was early, and the boat Captain already had a group on his boat to take out. He drove away and said to come back later. I took a late night flight the evening before and had to leave a hour before my trip to get there on time to be told we cant help you and still charged me for the trip. I would definitely use a different charter.
