Ski Country in the Summertime - My wife and I were picked up by Romina y Jorge promptly at 9:00am at our AirBnB on Vicuña MacKenna in a very nice, new Hyundai van. It was just the four of us. Romina’s English was excellent; Gorge’s driving was skillful and very attentive which is definitely needed on this winding mountain asphalt two-lane up to Valle Nevado. We live in a small Colorado ski town so we knew exactly what to expect when visiting ski areas in the off-season, but Romina seemed somewhat worried that we might be disappointed by the dry, barren ghost town atmosphere. I assure you, we were not. We saw all four ski areas with plenty of walk around and photo taking time, and we got to see two condors circling as well . . . a first for us! The ski resort landscape of the Andes is very typical in altitude to most Colorado ski areas, 9,000-12,000 feet, however, the biggest difference is that there are NO trees or trail skiing; it’s all wide open. They must have some dynamite powder skiing at times, and having observed their Thiokol-like snow grooming equipment, they must have a good trail grooming program as well. We would now love to see the areas in the winter, but driving the steep road up when it’s icy or snow packed would be intense. We heartily recommend this tour for those that just want to see Santiago’s high country, 17,815 foot El Plomo, and its Glacier in the summer. Thank you!

Can't remember our tour guide for... -
Can't remember our tour guide for this trip but he was beyond awesome. May not remember his name but I sure will remember him for the rest of my life. He gave us a super tour it was just my friend and I on this tour and he just went overboard for us. It so happened that when we were on the Andes mountain my friend fell while going up down a section of the mountain and broke her wrist. He immediately took charge and called for help then we cut our tour and he took us to the hospital and sat there with us for the entire day and evening until he had to go to his family. I was beyond impressed with his hospitality.

skiing - I was there 30th of June this year, which is equivalent to ou December. Since I did not know what to find, I did only a day trip from Santiago. It was the first snow of the season. It was powder snow and beautiful weather. I believe the hotels are a little pricey. Installations are not comparable to Europe and ski hire a little poor. But al in all good slopes and good experience.

It was not what I initially ordered. - The tour was only for Valle Nevado and they had not organized well with the seats, there were many people and few seats and they transferred me to another van, the other van was going to Farellones Park with all the occupants so they literally convinced me to go there I had a good time but it was not what I asked for and what I initially paid for. Poorly coordinated… The driver and his companion very well.

Good ski resort, heavy traffic in weekends - Good ski resort, only 2 hours from Santiago, very close to other resorts. Heavy traffic and crowded during weekends, if you can go during weekdays.

A lot of time wasted for nothing. - Very messy park. Lots of queue. A lot of time wasted accessing the park, even if you bought tickets in advance... I don't recommend it for anyone who wants to ski. You waste the entire day of your trip to have 2 hours of skiing.

Disappointing! - We paid for an individual visit and they put us in a van with 10 people. Very bad communication, 48 hours before seeking confirmation and the night before they said they would arrive at 5:30 AM, with 7:30 AM being agreed months before!
