Additional Information

La Gomera, situated amongst the western Canary Islands, is comparatively recent in geologic terms. It’s a captivating destination where it feels as though time stands still. Its landscape is woven with complex networks of valleys, ravines, and canyons, all encircled by basalt rock structures.

La Gomera is the shelter to a rare Atlantic cloud forest, laurisilva. It’s a primeval woodland consisting of 30-metre-high trees, evergreens, ferns and mosses. This laurisilva is an olden, magical woodland that invokes a profound connection with nature and the ancient world.

A taste of La Gomera - Highly recommend this trip to get a taste of the beautiful La Gomera. Coach pick up from hotel and dropped at the fast cat terminal in Los Cristianos for crossing as foot passengers (50 mins). Facilities and cafes on board for drinks and snacks very reasonably priced. Picked up by coach on the other side and then a lovely drive up the mountains and around the island to a lovely restaurant on a hillside terrace. There were plenty of stopping points for photo opportunities on the way - views were breathtaking! Very nice 3 course lunch where you get a chance to chat with some of the other group - you are packed in tightly, but the food was very nice and wine and water were free flowing! At the end you get a demonstration of the Gomera whistling language - it’s fascinating. Another drive up to the national park after lunch with a few more stops and then you have some free time in San Sebastián port before boarding the ferry back. Got back to Tenerife at 18:30 then dropped off to hotel. Take a bottle of water. It’s a long day but really enjoyable.

Great holiday trip! - My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. It was very well organised. The guide spoke spanish english and german so everybody on the trip could understand. We enjoyed hopping off the bus to take photographs at the various scenic viewing points. This was especially good for us as we both vape so we weren't on the bus for long durations without a break. We enjoyed the meal with wine at the restaurant which catered to my friend who was gluten free. The display of the local whistle language was fantastic! The guide kept us well informed throughout. Overall a fantastic holiday experience

Well organised - The guide Guido was very helpful and kind. The excursion was well organised and we visited a lot of places. The only weaker point was the lunch.

Lots of nice photo motifs! Remember to bring warm clothes! - Skilled guide who had a lot of knowledge about La Gomera. The lunch was average but the wine served was horrible, reminded me of some home made slop!! The food wasn't hot either! You guys charge a lot for this trip, so this wasn't much to shout about!!!

Comfort break - Great trip but no indication of toilet stops which I need but when asked told 45 minutes later but said not good enough. Include a comfort break for mature guests.

Gomera for the day, after a disappointing start to the day the bus tour is the island was good. - After a disappointing start to the day the bus tour of island was good. Roads challenging but driver excellent. Tony, the tour guide was knowledgable and commentary clear on the whole. Lunch was poor compared to similar trips pre COVID.

La Gomera day trip from Tenerife - Organisation of the trip was fine with some interesting features, if you don’t mind hopping on and off bus for photo stops. Constant commentary from guide in 3 languages was a bit tedious. The lunch was truly dreadful. La Gomera is fabulous though with steep mountain climbs. Our driver was fantastic thankfully! We took this trip as we were in Tenerife for 6 weeks without a car and visiting La Gomera independently wasn’t viable. So going was partly research about visiting for a proper stay next year ( yes!) It was a long day as collected from El Medano at 07.00 and got back at 19.30! I was also disappointed that we couldn’t access the ferry’s deck, usually so pleasurable. Many of our fellow passengers clearly enjoyed the trip and said so. Given all that was included I think 92 Euro was good value ( not the lunch!) but this kind of tourism just isn’t for us.

Bus trip with too much bus - As expected and described, it’s a very long day. Out pick up was 7:10 to head to the ferry terminal. We spent a while hanging around the terminal after missing our initial ferry. Then most of the rest of the day on a bus. Our guide was hugely knowledgeable and provided interesting facts about the island as we drove up and down the mountains. Views from the bud were great, if you sat on the right. Lunch was the usual basic fair for an excursion, and the whistling language demonstration was great. However, we just spent way too much time on a bus and not enough time exploring.
