Additional Information

El Rincon, a spectacular region in the town of La Orotava, is amongst the most picturesque areas on the Island of Tenerife. Nestled between the verdant north coast and the Orotava-valley mountains, it presents stunning views of both the Teide volcano and the sea. Thanks to its coastal location, the climate here is milder than the rest of the valley, making it an ideal spot for farming and serene, lengthy strolls.

Adhering to permaculture principles, Banana EcoPlantation boasts an incredibly diverse crop collection. More than 15 different types of aromatic plants are spread across the farm. Additionally, we intersperse our banana trees with oats, allowing us to establish our own ecosystem and achieve 95% self-sustainability.

This is the ideal venture for those particularly interested in gaining a firsthand understanding of sustainable living and the future of farming, all within one of Tenerife’s most enchanting regions.

  • It is recommendable to bring comfortable shoes and a light jacket.

Fantastic informative visit for the whole family - Fantastic tour of the banana plantation. Our guide was very informative and it was a great experience for all of the family. They were also very accommodating when we had to postpone our visit due to my son being unwell. Would definitely recommend. Beautiful views too

Absolutely worth knowing and instructive! - We found this tour via TripAdvisor. Contact was made via WhatsApp because we wanted to take part in the tour at short notice. It wasn't a problem and we were able to pay in cash on site. The owner himself led the tour and explained some of the secrets of bananas to us. He also described the differences to South American bananas and banana plantations. An absolutely educational event with lots of fun for the children.

A very worthwhile stop off. - A very worthwhile stop off. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a passion for what they do. You get to taste organic bananas grown on the farm, a tot of banana liquor, and the honey from the farms own bee hives is delicious too.

Unfortunately could make it due to poor transport choices - Unfortunately we didn’t make it as it is so difficult to access if you don’t know the area. Communication from the organiser was incredible though and I want to thank him for this.
