Fantastic trip and a great company to do it with - Second trek with Nepal Trekking Experts. Rajesh was, once again, superb with communication and organisation. The adaptations to the standard trek he suggested worked very well and gave us the buffer days we needed to get the best weather for crossing the pass. The adjusted first few days also kept us away from any crowds and the itinerary gave us great acclimatisation time with no side effect whatsoever. Binod, our guide, was great and seemed to know all of the villagers and tea house owners on the trek (he has been on the route over 100 times apparently). He managed to get us great rooms and quiet tea houses and changed around days and stopovers for us to get the best from the trek when the weather was not the best. He even managed to sort it that there were only the two of us in the room at Daramsala. We played 3 or 4 games of Dhumbal every night with Binod and Myla, our porter, and they were both great company. Myla was also incredibly strong and smiled all the way round. If you are looking to book your trek directly with a local company from overseas do not hesitate to use Nepal Trekking Experts.

Proud and grateful hikers of the Manaslu Circuit Trek - Our experience actually started way before the actual trek, with Rajesh, the owner of the company, being available for all sorts of questions and helping us carefully select the trek most suitable for us. Nepal Trekking Experts was recommended to us by my friend’s son who did the same trek last year, and for good reason. From start to finish, we were more than well taken care of! Starting with a warm and traditional welcome at the airport, and finishing with a personal farewell and a souvenir. In between there were our guide Thakur and porter Santosh, who were truly amazing throughout the trek. They took care of all the meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. They provided us with tips and tricks, pointed out flowers, named rivers and mountains, taught us some Nepali, got us into understanding the local culture, explained how to use the prayer rolls and gave us advise on what to wear, depending on the weather and the terrain expected. We are super proud of ourselves that we made it across Larke Pass. The weather predictions were such that it wasn’t sure whether we’d be able to go up at all and guide Thakur had a serious job judging all conditions including fresh snow. We skipped an acclimatisation day to make full use of a good-weather window, and after a 4.5 hour climb, which we had started at 4am, we were at the pass. It was windy, very windy. But we had seen the sun come up, been surrounded by mighty mountains, experienced the feeling of jelly legs, and motivated ourselves when the going got tough to a point where it was a matter of counting ‘and one, and two, and three, etc.’ for every half step. Determination got us there! As well as the recommendation of our guide to not drink any alcohol, coffee or tea during the days before the pass, nor eat any meat or fried food. Just so that we would stay as healthy as could be. And it worked! What’s more, we felt ourselves getting stronger by the day and I hadn’t felt that clear in the head in a long time. Brainfog gone! As to the difficulty of the trek, for both my friend and me, it was the hardest we’d ever done. And during the trek we discussed whether or not we’d do it again. We came to a ‘no’. Initially. But once we had made it down safely, and back to Kathmandu in one piece (the traffic!!!), we couldn’t stop phantasising about what our next trip would be. So yes, we’d do it again! Or something similar. With even more physical preparation. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, Rajesh, Thakur and Santosh the strongest. PS: Oh, forgot to mention Santosh came running back down after he had been all the way up with our big rucksacks, so that he could take our daypacks and make the last couple of 100 metres to the top a whole lot lighter for us. The best!

Manaslu Trek - Myself and 3 friends booked a trip with Nepal Trekking Experts in April 25. The company had been recommended to us by friends of ours who had done the same trip the year prior. We did the Manaslu 17-day itinerary trip. It was a truly amazing trip in all senses, particularly thanks to the company and our guide, Basanta Devkota. Everything was extremely well organised from the moment we arrived at the airport to the moment we left - we did not have to worry about anything other than our packing list. I highly recommend the Manaslu trek - it was relatively un-touristy, almost all days were along single tracks with interspersed villages, and there was a good mix of some tough day hikes at higher altitudes (base camp/tibet border) which were optional but which we really enjoyed. Our guide Basanta went out of his way to make our overnight stays and lunch breaks much more enjoyable and comfortable, particularly ensuring that we were well fed at all times! A big highlight was spending most of our free time playing ultra-competitive Nepalese card games with him and other guides. I will definitely recommend this company, the Manaslu trek and Basanta to anyone looking to do a trek in Nepal.

Great hike & great local agency - Incredible Manaslu Trek with Nepal Trekking Experts [Binod & Rajesh] We had an unforgettable experience on the Manaslu Trek, thanks to Nepal Trekking Experts. From the very start, everything was smoothly organized. Our guide, Binod, was fantastic—he was super experienced, supportive, and always made sure we were comfortable throughout the trek. Rajesh, the tour coordinator, was also great, helping us with everything in Kathmandu before, during, and after the trip. What stood out to us about Nepal Trekking Experts is that it’s a smaller, local agency. The owner and many of the guides are from the Manaslu region, which makes a big difference. They’re passionate about the area, and it’s clear they want to make your trip as amazing as possible. We started our trek in early February, when it was still winter. Many of the teahouses along the route were closed, but thanks to their strong local connections, they made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, heavy snow made it impossible for us to cross the pass, but the team made the right call, prioritizing safety over everything else. We really appreciated how carefully they considered all options and how experienced Binod was at making these kinds of decisions. We decided not to hire a porter and carried our own bags (about 10kg each), which turned out to be just fine. After a couple of days, our bodies adjusted to the weight, and the trek became more manageable. The scenery was breathtaking, and the whole experience felt so special, especially given how remote and quiet the route was. The hotel they arranged for us in Kathmandu was also great—comfortable and located in the lively Thamel district, which was perfect for relaxing and exploring before and after the trek. Overall, we have amazing memories of the whole trip, and we can’t thank Nepal Trekking Experts enough for their professionalism and personal touch. We highly recommend them to anyone planning a trek in Nepal!

Incredible experience, beyond expectations! - We had an incredible trip in Nepal doing the Manaslu Circuit with Nepal Trekking Experts. We had heard about the company via a friend, and when visiting the website it was all very clear and informative. We had all the information we needed to know, and the itinerary and FAQs were comprehensive. Email communication to clarify anything else was responded to in a timely manner. The day of arrival we met Rajesh who spoke to us about what to expect and answered any questions (ie logistics, gear requirements). He was very professional and friendly. Accommodation at a hotel was provided at the start and end of the trek, and all tea house stays were organised including food. Transport was also provided. We were assisted by our guide Basanta throughout the trek. He helped us navigate the mountains, gave us many insights on the history and ways of life in Nepal, and managed our stays at each of the tea houses (organising food and drinks, bedrooms, anything that we needed). He is an incredible person and I couldn’t recommend him more highly, communicating very well and helping manage the morale and energy within the team. He made our trip a huge success! The trek itself was unbelievable, off the beaten path but beautiful and scenic. Each day was slightly different as we got higher and higher, starting along the river into grasslands into forest areas into rocky areas and finally into mountainous areas covered with snow. The tea houses are basic but provide everything you need (with the occasional western toilet and warm shower). Expect the trek to be tough but manageable, take it slow and enjoy the scenery. I will definitely be back with Nepal Trekking Experts.

WONDERFULLY REWARDING & CHALLENGING - Nepal Trekking Experts were fantastic at helping organise our trip prior to flying out. Very responsive to queries and in helping orchestrate a trip where we could be autonomous around areas such as food/accommodation, even though we tended to go for the advised tea houses after beginning. We are deeply grateful to our guide and porter who were fantastic throughout our time on Manaslu and really added to the quality of our experience and the fun that we had along the way! Me and my friend I travelled with both suffered quite a bit at the pass with altitude sickness, so I believe medicine is worth considering and discussing with your considered trekking company prior to embarking. One of the greatest experiences of our lives, and we hope to be back to do another one day! Thank you

The best experience and the best company - I did the Tsum Valley and Manaslu circuit treks with Nepal Trekking Experts and it was a 100/10 experience the whole way though. Couldn’t recommend Raj and his team enough, especially our guide Resham. They were professional and organised the whole way though, answering every question quickly and made sure we didn’t have to worry or think about anything apart from enjoying the experience. Our guide Resham was incredibly kind, caring and experienced, so much so that other guides along the way were asking him for advice. Unbeknownst to us and off his own back Resham filled half his bag with snacks just to make sure we were always looked after, that’s the kind of guy he is. Resham knew of all the best places to sleep, eat and visit on and off the trail that other guides and trekkers seemed to miss. Make sure you book your trip with Nepal Trekking Experts and make sure you request to have Resham as your guide, they both created an incredibly safe, easy and world class experience.

Manaslu & Tsum Valley Trek March 2025 - I just came back from a 21-day Trek (Manaslu circuit and tsum valley) we did with our guide Resham from Nepal Trekking Experts and it was absolutely amazing! From start to the end and even beyond i felt 100% in the best hands. As Resham is very experienced in terms of Trekking and even originally comes from Manaslu Region, he knows landscape and the people there very well. There was not a single question he couldn‘t answer, whether it was the names of the fabulous mountains we could see, plants, animals oder cultural aspects. Furthermore, he always chose the best hotels for us in which we even always had the rooms with the best views and arranged everything to our highest satisfaction - sometimes in the background without us even noticing. This also counts for the food: as Resham himself used to be a professional Cook we could always be sure to get the perfect meals and even fruits (Resham once even cooked himself). All of this already makes this guy stand out from many many other guides we met along the trek (trust me…). However most important, it was his kind, modest, motivating and funny attitude that made the trip an absolut blast at all times, even though it surely wasn‘t always easy, especially in regions of high altitude. So if you plan to go trekking in Nepal yourself, i can absolutly recommend going with Resham and booking via Nepal Trekking Experts! Rajesh, the owner of the company, organized everything perfectly for us, answered every question fast and very competent and gave me the best briefing in what to expect and what to pack. I will surely go again with these guys very soon! Thank you for everything!

Don’t wait, your best ever holiday is waiting for you!! - Where to start this review is going to be the hardest…… I had mixed expectations about doing a trekking holiday but was recommended Nepal Trekking Experts and couldn’t be happier with the entire process. Rajesh is so on the ball and replies to any question big or small with speedy response. The preparation was thorough and the packing list was perfect, used it all and didn’t wish for anything more. Next the trek, I don’t think I’ve used my camera do much, every turn, every day a special experience and a spectacular view. We did Manaslu circuit and Taum Valley and you really need to do both to get the full cultural experience. Our guide Rajan and our porter Tsswang were invaluable, providing the extra touches on and off the trek but more importantly caring that we were happy and safe and seriously who needs to carry your own bags, you are there to love every minute not struggle up the hills. There is nothing I could ask to improve and for the biggest rap, coming from someone who was been very lucky to travel many great places for work and play, this holiday was my best EVER!! Thanks team, see you soon for maybe Dolpa.

The best trip I could’ve ever asked for. - I recently just finished the manaslu circuit trek with Nepal trekking experts and it was the best company I could’ve chosen to trek with in the Himalayas. I learned quickly that you need an expert guide in the mountains and that’s exactly what I got. My guide Arjun was completing the manaslu circuit for the 47th time, and that’s just for that particular trek! He knew everything that was happening around us and could spot mountain deer or blue sheep hiding in the rocks from at least 100 meters away. I learnt so much about the local people and I got the opportunity to talk so many of them because of Arjun. I didn’t feel like a tourist, I felt apart of the community. Arjun seemed to know everyone which meant I was friends with all the owners of the tea houses and hotels along the way and always got to watch how they cooked the food while also having a fun conversation. No matter if it was breakfast, lunch or dinner Arjun always made sure I got what I needed and always made the extra effort but just as important as that he was the most fun person to be around. We made jokes and he played cards with me after dinner which made the experience so much fun. And just for the next trekkers information I saw a lot of other trekking companies guides not talking too much to their guests and therefore they missed out on so many key things happening around them. Arjun was definitely the best guide I saw throughout the couple of weeks I was trekking and i I feel so lucky to have had him as my guide and it’s all thanks to Rajesh the owner of the company for having such amazing guides. If your planning a trip to Nepal your best bet is Nepal trekking experts for sure. It was so easy to book and the owner of the company Rajesh is an amazing guy. He answered all of my questions before I left for the trek when I was back home in Australia and even after the trek he was giving me recommendations for restaurants while I stayed in Kathmandu. Rajesh went that extra effort in making sure that I was completely satisfied. If you can get Arjun as your guide you will have the best trip of your life as I had. Arjun is not just a guide to me, he is now a great friend. He taught me so much and gave me the best experience possible. I can’t recommend him enough. Thank you Nepal Trekking Experts for the trip of a lifetime!
