The restaurant provides individual table service based on the number of people booked, with exceptions being 23rd to 25th of December. Post-concert, take in the sight of the city gleaming under the lights.

The fortress is located in the Old City (pedestrian area). Go to the funicular station (Festungsgasse 4). Present your voucher to get a ride up for free from 30 min. before dinner start. By car use the car park at Hildmannplatz 1, Entry (Einfahrt) B. Follow the sign Festung/Dom. Walking time 10 min.

Magical Christmas Experience - Not only was the VIP menu delicious, the Mozart/Advent concert was delightful. Small venue, close to the performance, perfect length of time. Only hiccup was lack of information about “drinks are not included” with the dinner price. Highly recommend!

Beautiful concert at the Fortress and delicious dinner. - This dinner/concert was the highlight of my trip to Salzburg! The dinner was delicious, but really the concert was amazing. If you are a lover of classical music, this cannot be missed!! No need to splurge for the Golden VIP ticket if going in the winter months bc the sun sets early and you don't get the full benefit of having a window for dinner. But despite the additional expense, it was Totally worth it!!

Great concert in historic setting - We did both dinner and a concert and though dinner was average. Like other reviews mentioned, if you are going in a wintertime - it is too dark to see a view outside thus it really does not matter where you sit in the restaurant (we were next to the window). The concert was excellent and being inside the fortress contributed to the overall experience. If there is an option to only attend the concert, you won't miss much of the experience. The musicians were professionals and played pieces by other composers beside Mozart. The room was full and depending on your preference, you may want to pay a bit more to sit closer. Overall, the venue and concert experience are worth considering when in Salzburg.

Xmas treat - Despite a bit of organizational confusion and the maitre‘d being rather unhelpful (keeping us waiting and then we were told off for being late), the food was ok and we had great time with family eating in a beautiful room. We were in December so not worth paying too much for view in the dark, but I think the VIP meal comes with beef. We had grilled chicken with rice. The concert took from 8-9.30 with a break inbetween. We thoroughly enjoyed that! Vivaldi‘s winter was a dream. One tip: be on time! 😁

Upgrade to VIP for a much better dining experience. - This is the second time we’ve done this and it’s quite nice, but word to the wise: pay for the VIP. We did classic and were seated right by the kitchen door, I can’t describe how loud it was as the staff went in and out and slammed the door to the dumb waiter or whatever was inside. It wasn’t the staff’s fault, they were busy and hurried but courteous, it was just really disruptive. Also, dress light- the concert area is quite warm!

Concert spoilt by dreadful meal. - Concert good. Dinner dreadful, avoid at all costs. Food poor, service worse. We waited so long for an indifferent first course that we left after it was served to have dinner at a proper restaurant. The dinner is designed for tourists who will never return.
