Jiufen and Pingxi Sky Lantern - We did a half day private tour with Hicks to Jiufen, Shifen waterfall and Pingxi. This was the best tour we did in Taiwan. Hicks was very knowledgeable, accommodating and kind. The lantern lighting ceremony was amazing and we stopped for a drink and snack in Jiufen overlooking Keelung. Best to go in late afternoon. We highly recommend Hicks! Great tour!

Excellent Tour - Huang (Henry) was engaging and we were able to learn more about the culture of the place, he knows the place well. He also has good food recommendations and brought us to traditional food stands to try out various snacks. My friends told me that going for this guided tour was a good idea.

Best tour we’ve taken. - This was an amazing tour, made even better by our wonderful tour guide Hicks Wang. We took the afternoon tour and we were not disappointed. We started of at the Shifen Waterfall, which the locals refer to as Little Niagra, an apt name, in my view. There are quite a lot of stairs, although in small bursts, and a decent amount of walking, but well worth the effort if you think you can manage. We then took a short trip to the Pingxi Sky Lantern to join many others having a great time. We painted our messages/wishes on all sides of the lantern, which was much larger than we had imagined. It was then fired up with us holding the sides and then we watched it lift into the sky. Great fun. We then drove up the mountain to Jiufen which was the best part of the tour. By the time we reach Jiufen it was nightfall, and this is why we were glad to take the afternoon tour. This place is gorgeous at night, with all the lanterns lighting up the streets and alleys. So much atmosphere. We absolutely loved this trip and would recommend it, and Hicks Wang, to anyone coming to Taipei.

A few day with a great tour guide - We had Jackson as a tour guide and he did a fantastic job. We saw waterfalls, did a latern ceremony and walked through a huge market to an authentic tea house. Through the who process he was super knowledgeable, fun and patient with all of our wandering and questions. He told us the best things to try and places to shop. We loved riding with him, he even had car karaoke to do.

Wonderful day trip so smooth - It was a private car trip by Sean guided us. He was very polite and kind. We traveled in nice timing and very smooth. Only regret is I should have kept a space for food street. They looked very yummy.😋

Worth the excursion from Taipei - Nicolas Ying was an incredible tour guide!! He took tons of photos and pointed out the best spots to capture memories, shared so much local history, and made the day so comfortable and well-paced. He also helped me try many local foods - I really enjoyed the tea ceremony and the local bites along Jiuffen old street. I took this tour with him solo and am so glad I had someone to guide me around, park close to each activity, and share the significance. He even had a couple hidden gems in there! I loved doing the 8am departure as we got to many spots before they got crowded and I got to really enjoy the experience. Well worth the tour, and be sure to book with Nicolas!

Awesome Half Day Private Tour - We had a wonderful time in Taipei thanks to our tour guide, Vincent. He took my family of 5 to the Shifen waterfall, Pingxi lantern release, and Jiufen old town. He gave us magnificent history lessons about Taiwan along the way to each destination. Many of the vendors at each site know Vincent as a regular and provides him with choice accommodations. His van was clean, luxurious, and played nice music throughout the day. He kept in constant communication with us using your preference of social media (Line, WhatsApp, etc.). Vincent was also very prepared to have umbrellas ready for us to use during the partly rainy day. He never rushed through each stop, allowing us to take our time and enjoy the venue. He also acted as our official photographer and sent us amazing pictures. Thank you , Vincent for an amazing tour!

A must do excursion! - This excursion was amazingly beautiful. The north of Taiwan is mountainous and the waterfalls are breathtaking. Writing your prauers on the latern then sending it to the sky was fun. The sunset was beautiful! This ia a must do.
