• Yehliu Geopark - Yehliu is a cape located on Taiwan’s northern coast, renowned for Yehliu Geopark. Here, sea erosion has crafted unique honeycomb and mushroom rocks, including the famous Queen’s Head and Dragon’s Head. The terrain is mostly flat with limited shade, so sun protection is recommended during the summer months.
• Shifen Waterfall - Shifen Waterfall is the most renowned waterfall in Taiwan, fed by the Keelung River. It stands approximately 20 meters (66 feet) tall and 40 meters (131 feet) wide. The walk to the viewing platform takes about 30 minutes, offering partial shade and a suspension bridge crossing.
• Shifen Old Street - Situated next to Shifen Station in the Pingxi area, this old street features an active railway line running directly through the market. Visitors can release sky lanterns on the tracks, pausing for passing trains.
• Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) - Step into this former gold-mining mountain town, originally constructed by the Japanese, now a labyrinth of historical lanes and alleys. The charming streets, mostly stairways, are lined with snack stalls and teahouses and can become quite crowded. (Tip: To experience Jiufen at sunset or dusk, consider booking a departure after 11:00 AM. This will make Jiufen the final stop, allowing time to enjoy the sunset views and evening lights.)
