Rome tour - Red line is better than the yellow with more audio information about the sites around the city. Makes it easy to get around Rome.

Very practical - We took it over 4 days. This allows you to see Rome while moving from one point to another. You can do it from the inside with audio guide or up to enjoy Rome otherwise. The price is a bit high but if you move a lot, it is worth it. Above all, you have to look at the schedules to avoid waiting. The only negative is that the last lap is quite early (6:30 p.m., it seems to me)

Should’ve taken the Red Bus. - Take the Red Bus if you are in a Hurry. We use the Bus Tour as transportation in addition to the tour. The Yellow Bus stops more often and stays longer. Make sure they send you digital QR Code, because they made us print ticket. Why did we use the Viator App and book online if we were forced to use paper ticket? Paper can be easily lost, digital ticket is key to trip.

Ideal for seeing the sights of the city to get your bearing - This is worth doing to get your bearings on this beautiful city. The guided tour on board is ideal. You can hop on and off at your leisure. Better to prebook as there are a lot of touting going on.

Limited stops on a Sunday! - Limited stops on a Sunday and rude tour operators, I don’t recommend. Recommend catching a taxi to the Spanish steps then you can walk to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon and visit all the great restaurants and shops.

I would go with a different company - There are 4 different companies that make the same stops as CitySightseeing (CS). There were four points where CS failed us. First, there is no clear instruction as to how to access the meeting points. I had to call different numbers to get an explanation as to where the Colosseum stop was. There is no specific address given. I had to call and rep told me which cross streets to go to (it’s not next to Colosseum). Wasted 45 minutes figuring this out. Second, the representative was not clear about the difference between red and yellow bus. The red bus does not make all the stops. They rushed us into the red one and when I told driver that I wanted to get off near Pantheon, they told us to get off at the next stop and wait for the yellow bus. This wasted 30 minutes. Third, we had a 1:30 pm reservation for the Colosseum, so after the Pantheon we left before 12:00 budgeting enough time to get the next bus and allow it to make its loop. Well - it took an hour for the next bus. A group of us watched the other companies buses come and go. And when we complained to the rep at the stop, he kept being rude saying it wasn’t his fault. Fourth, we are running late to the Colosseum because of the delayed buses. When we get to Roma Termini, the CS lady says, we are stopping here for 20 minutes for a break. Again, this was never communicated to me via email or even when boarding the bus in the morning. When I expressed frustration with the delay and showed her my reservation, she said you should catch the subway train or a taxi. Complete lack of communication and accountability. Please use another company.

Worst hop on hop off EVER - I've taken several hop on hop off rides over the years and this was the worst of all, by far. Where to begin .... 1. Few stops 2. Terrible/weak audio comments. It's hard not to have many interesting things to say about Roman monuments and sights but this tour was very laconic 3. Just 3 buses! We had to wait over 30 minutes 4. Buses spend more time in the stops than driving 5. Headset socket was not working Avoid at all costs

Awful, awful, awful. - This experience was awful! There were only four stops (2 of which were just labeled as Terminals), and bus stops were not clearly marked. You could not locate a clear schedule and the website was no help. We went to the address listed for pickups and no bus arrived. The experience was so bad, we didn't even try the next day. We wasted money. I've done the hop on Hop off experience many times (in this case, just the day before in Barcelona) and I've never had such a terrible experience!

Didn’t expect to get yelled at. Never been treated this way by a representative before. - We bought tickets online and tried to navigate to one of the stops but couldn’t find it. We found the physical store of the sightseeing company and thought we can go double check with. There was a representative on the phone but he gestured he can help. I asked him where the bus stop is, he said “around the corner”. Note that “around the corner” is a two-way street with several bus stops. I tried asking again if he can explain at least on which side of the street but he cut me off and started yelling, “I DON’T KNOW I’M NOT THE PERSON FOR YOU. YOU BOUGHT THIS ONLINE SO WHY DON’T YOU LOOK IT UP ONLINE”. Despite being shocked by his outburst, I tried to explain I was only looking for clarification by what he meant “around the corner” and thought he would know… considering he works there. I told him this isn’t how he should talk to customers, especially when he is representing a company. He yelled for me to get out and took a step forward as if he was shooing a stray dog. I’m still in shock at this experience and regret my purchase. I wish I’d seen other people’s reviews of this company beforehand. I reached out to Viator to see if they can support us with at least getting a refund but they weren’t able to. I’m truly disappointed Viator would continue to support a business that treats people like this.

We waited at the stop for... - We waited at the stop for 45 minutes. No busses drove by at all. We ended up having to take a scooter to each landmark in Rome and completely wasted our money on this tour.
