Fun day outside the city! - We had a great day with Emanuel as our guide. Group of 7 and started out near Circus Maximus. The catacombs were interesting to see. We enjoyed the bike ride down the “old” Appian Way and on through the ancient aqueduct park. Ride was about an hour and a half and bicycles easy to figure out. Fun to get out of the hustle of Rome and to enjoy a quieter day. Emanuel gave us a thorough overview of the history of the area and made the tour fun. Nice way to spend a day just outside the city.

Superb walk in ancient Rome - Our guide Matteo was exceptional. He took us by bike through the beautiful Via Appia and the aqueduct park that we could enjoy at sunset. Matteo has passed on his passion for this area of Rome and its history. He agreed to make as many photo stops as we wanted. We loved our visit, one of the best of our stay in Rome! Experience not to be missed. Thanks again, Matteo! <3

Great excursion in a pretty green space. - Emanuele was a terrific and knowledgeable guide on our tour. The trip itself was beautiful and the aqueducts in particular were breathtaking. It’s a great way to see something extra around Rome while getting away from the crowds. We would do it again!

Amazing! - We loved it! Our initial idea was the Castel Gandolfo tour, but after talking to the guide, who realized I wasn’t experienced with bikes, we chose this tour (lighter than the other one) and the difference was refunded by the company. We cycled along the Appian Way, reached the Aqueducts, rode through parks, and even saw an authentic Roman farm! All of this at a pace suitable for everyone on the tour, with electric bikes in excellent condition. The guide (Elena) was very kind and knew the route and the attractions very well. We highly recommend it and would definitely do it again!!

Bicycle Roma a wonderful experience! - I have now done two bike day trips with Bicycle Roma. My first trip was with Alessio within central Rome. There were four of us and it was pouring rain. However Bicycle Roma supplied us with rain gear and we had a fun afternoon. Best of all very few tourists in the rain. However this trip i was alone and wanted to get away from all the crowds and craziness in central Rome. I chose to ride the Appian Way. What a great choice. Gets you outside the crowds and into the country. I was lucky enough to have Emanuele as my guide and friend for the afternoon! We had tons of laughs with loads of history. Emanuele was super knowledgeable and a great riding partner. Bicycle Roma are avid cyclists and enjoy sharing their knowledge and history of this wonderful city and country. Try them, im positive you'll walk away with a big smile, knowledge and history of this magnificent city.

Perfect way to see the countryside of Rome. - I had a great time with Emanuele. He was so knowledgeable about the different sights along the way. He gave us the opportunity to stop and look around whenever we wanted, and also gave us clear instructions about where we would be going and what the terrain would be like so we could be prepared. At times some of our group fell behind, or took a wrong turn, and Emanuele took great efforts to keep everyone happy and made sure to return everyone together. The sights were all very interesting, and Emanuele had such a depth of knowledge about the history.

Awful experience, poorly maintained equipment, terrible guide and rude workers. - We unfortunately had the displeasure of having this 'experience' with this tour provider. Initially, you arrive at a random pizza shop with no signage or information as to where to wait. The pizza shop in question is very inconspicuous and hard to find. You'll be transferred to a cafe where you'll be provided with e-bikes that have been poorly maintained (we will get to this later), and you will ride along some quite dangerous and bumpy lanes, and also busy roads with traffic. The main issue with this provider I have is the poorly maintained bikes, I had the issue of when you rode faster than 10kmph, the front brake would not engage when you press it. This led to me nearly coming off the bike when the tour guide was riding faster than 25kmph down a rather steep and blind hill. This was unacceptable, I found the safety precautions of this to be non-existent, and due to not having a front brake, my partner and I were slower than the group. I hadn't the time to tell the guide that this was an issue due to him speeding off exceptionally fast and not waiting. This safety concern, along with the fact he disappeared on countless occasions, made us notify the guide that we were going to turn back and end the tour. Please note that from this point onwards, we were abandoned on a roadside with two bikes, left to find our own way back to the cafe, which was 3 miles away. The second most ridiculous point of this is that I explained this as an issue to the guide when we decided to turn back. He simply told those who messaged me that my wife couldn't ride properly. I told Alessio multiple times via WhatsApp message that the issue was my brake, which is why we were going slowly and instead he decided to insult my partner the entire message by telling us that she couldn't ride. Furthermore, this crook told me that in order to receive any refund for this awful excuse of an experience, I must provide a 5 star review. I wonder how many reviews they have are genuinely happy clients of theirs or those who just wanted rid of this ridiculous organisation. They told me multiple times that I had to give a 5 star review in order to have a refund for this alongside being insulting and not listening to our grievances. I am sure that this type of practice to harvest good reviews is against the policies of TripAdvisor, and as such, I have submitted a formal complaint due to this dangerous and corrupt company. I have also reported this offence to the Guardia di Finanza. Never, I repeat, NEVER allow your children or family members to participate in this tour. The guide and company have no concern for safety and will have you cycling fast in unfamiliar and unpleasant locations. If you have children, an older individual, or anyone that is not highly adept with cycling, you are likely to get hurt on this tour. I would assume your complains would fall on deaf ears as the individuals that work here only truly care about the money they receive and not the safety and enjoyment of those who paid the fee. I can guarantee that the rude and unpleasant Alessio would likely respond to this bad review with one of his following messages, but please bear in mind I did tell him the true reason for us stopping this tour early. That of safety, the front brake not working, and the tour guide being too quick and unavailable for us to raise concerns to. Alessio will say one of the following from our long trail of messages back and forth on WhatsApp: - "The guide has informed us that your wife is not able to ride a bike properly" - this is incorrect and a flagrant lie, due to this not being the issue, and also as she was absolutely fine with the ride and is competent in riding a bike. - "he reported that he waited 5 minutes for you at the first stop, which was on a completely straight section of road" this was actually 43 seconds as I was using Strava, a cycling app, to track this cycle and see how long it was and other statistics of the ride. - "Could you please clarify why a tour of this nature was booked if you do not possess the necessary cycling competence?" We can both cycle, and I have many rides tracked via my cycling app Strava. My partner has also cycled regularly in the past. - "I will process your refund. You can be assured that in our company, we don't just work for money; we are committed to leaving a positive memory with everyone who participates in our experiences. That being said, we will not accept a negative review from you. It would be disrespectful to us, given that the issue arose because your wife lacked the necessary cycling skills for the tour, and you should have booked an easier experience." Again, this Alessio is ignoring my issue and directly insulting my partners ability to ride a bike. He ignored my multiple messages telling him the bike had a fault. The tour guide must have lied to the individuals handling this as he was quite unpleasant, mostly to my partner when we said we would head back. - "We need assurance against the risk of you leaving a negative review, as our goodwill has extended beyond our policy. I must remind you that the experience page clearly states that no refund is provided if the client does not feel comfortable cycling. Since this is the first time we've received a refund request of this nature, I would be grateful if you could leave us a 5-star review for the quality of assistance you received." Again, please look at how this individual is trying to farm incorrect 5 star reviews to inaccurately report how good this tour is. They do not care about safety or other issues. They just care about their reputation, which is overinflated and is not representative of their skill and experience provided as a tour operator. I would recommend never using this tour as these individuals will do their best to ignore any issue that you have and will ensure an unpleasant and very unforgettable experience (in a bad way). This particular tour was the largest waste of my time, effort and money and ruined a what could have been a very good day if the tour operator had any consideration for their guests. Any response to this review that isn't an apology and refund for the experience and comments by Alessio will fall short of them "protecting their company", this a direct quite used by Alessio multiple times whilst trying to extort a 5 star review from me when I was told I would get a refund. He then decided to retract this offer because I told him he was blackmailing a good review from me.
