  • Selected area transportation service (Bahia Feliz to Mogan)
  • Coastal anchoring for sea bathing
Additional Information

Witnessing animals in their wild habitat is an unparalleled experience, and undoubtedly, observing dolphins and whales up close ranks among the most astonishing. There may be instances when only a handful are visible, while other times, their numbers could reach thousands, but the fascination remains the same.

With our tours, you get the opportunity to feast your eyes on creatures ranging from the petite common dolphin to the colossal blue whale - the largest living animal to ever exist. Moreover, you also stand a chance to spot turtles, flying fish, and other aquatic life forms.

Not only does this experience let you admire the picturesque coastline from a different vantage point, but you also have the option to dive into the azure setting for a swim, if you are so inclined.

Location
Calle Puerto Base
We are in the Puerto Base (left port in Puerto Rico facing the sea). You can reach both the GC 500 road and the GC 1 motorway. When you reach the entrance of the port (which is also a parking lot) you just have to go straight for about 90 meters to reach the "Spirit of the Sea"

Nice trip, even without seeing a lot - Lovely trip out in slightly rough conditions. The crew tried their best to spot cetaceans and waited for a whale to resurface for a while, but we didn't manage to see anythinflg except flying fish (which were still cool!). We were offered a free trip but couldn't go, can't fault the organisers or crew though!

Underwhelming... - 3.5 hours which became 4 hours was very long. The trip was uneventful. We didn't see any dolphins but that happens. Appreciated been offered a second free trip but we were leaving and couldnt avail of it. The free soft drink is a plastic cup of fantastic, coke or water. The swim stop is near the end and lasts about 20 minutes. Not a memorable trip for me...perhaps I've been spoiled!

Poor experience but brilliant PR work. - We booked two tickets to travel on what was described as one of the best trips in Gran Canaria. The company's PR department certainly did their job very well through words & pictures, however that is where the similarities ended. The crew were welcoming and the multi-lingual advice provided was helpful. However, there was no offer of complimentary & unlimited drinks (minerals or alcoholic in nature) and there was also no reference to searching for dolphins. We travelled out to sea and while we knew that wild animals such a whales & dolphins would not appear at any particular time, we did catch a glimpse of a whale and it's calf for about 10 seconds. After that, the captain headed for what we all thought was the next part of the 'safari', i.e. search gor dolphins. However, no such luck as the captain went full-throttle back towards the dock. I asked about the possibility of searching for dolphins in an area of warmer waters and was advised that the boat would stop near the coast for passengers to have a leisurely swim. That part of the trip was supposed to take 1 hour as advised by sales staff on the fock but the reality was that it listed no more than 10-15mins. Overall, while the sight of the whale ticked on part of the advertised itinerary, the company failed to fulfil any of it's other promises. I would have given it a 1-star but the whale and calf was the company's saving grace. It could have been so much better so i would suggest to spend your money on another trip that will TRY to deliver on what they advertised.

Disappointing - Had this recommended to us by another couple. In summary it was disappointing and felt like a tourist cash grab. We saw no dolphins or whales, just a turtle and some flying fish. Whilst we appreciate this is nature, this should be more clearly explained that in winter the animals are less likely to come out and be seen. Ultimately we paid €80 to go on an hour and a half long coach, be on a boat for three hours with motion sickness, and then take an hour and a half trip back. If you have a day to spare and a strong stomach and want to take the risk - fair enough - but I wouldn’t recommend this excursion in the summer months. I have travelled a lot by boat and the motion sickness is very bad so please bear this in mind if travelling with young children or if you are likely to get seasick yourself. The tour ranks highly so I can only presume it is better than the other dolphin tours PR’d around the island resorts.

Not for us - It was terrible, it was very windy on the see ( on the land was nice and hot 24-25 degrees)and we felt very cold. The water came on the boat a few times and made people wet which I did not find nice or funny. When the boat stopped for us to watch the dolphins it was shaking which made us feel nauseous. No life vests while on boat. It did not find it safe or fun. Sorry, never again.
