BSAC Sports Diver depth progression - I dived with Safari because of their justified good reviews and also because I dived with them in 2019 (pre-Covid lockdown). As a BSAC dive centre they could also ‘sign off’ my BSAC Sport Diver depth progression; first to 25m then to 30m. My dive leader was Debora Colombo, she gave me a clear dive briefing on both occasions with options depending on currents. Both dives were from the shore with Debora kindly fitting my fins for me in the shallows 😊. My first dive was to 25m seeing nudibranchs and cuttle fish on the way down among many other fish that I am not good enough to identify and name. I had the delight of also seeing an Angel Shark lying in wait in the sandy bottom. The second dive was to 30m and I saw the largest number of barracudas ~30 plus at the greater depth. In the clear water with good visibility it was a rare sight for me, as I have only seen the occasionally one or two at a distance. As we returned towards the shore and shallower water, I was delighted to see a sea horse possibly with its babies too – hard for me to clearly see. An Octopus among the rocks too. The dive finished with a safety stop and kind congratulations from Debora for my completing the deeper dives. I was particularly appreciated Debora’s hints at improving my air consumption and also my buoyancy.

Ideal diving spot - Safari diving was very welcoming, ideal location with the dive shop right on the beach making kitting up and dekitting so much more easier and convenient. The whole team were extremely nice and welcoming and a special mention to Debra, Carlos and Mano for having us. We went to some very cool spots including the museum and blue hole and saw some cool sealife such as groupa, nudibranch, parrotfish and a big Eagle stingray Really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend
