A Journey Above the Clouds

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for unique experiences that can captivate both adults and children alike. When I heard about the Teide by Night experience in Tenerife, I knew it was something I had to try. My daughter enjoyed her Coca-Cola, while I indulged in a glass of wine, and we even experimented with a Fanta and red wine sangria, which turned out to be surprisingly tasty!

The lack of extensive walking was a bonus for my daughter, who appreciated the leisurely pace. It made the experience accessible to everyone, regardless of their fitness level, and allowed us to focus on the beauty and serenity of our surroundings.

Stargazing Magic

As darkness enveloped the landscape, the real magic began. Jasper guided us through a stargazing experience that was both educational and awe-inspiring. With the help of telescopes and laser technology, we explored the constellations of the northern hemisphere, learning about the myths and legends that accompany them.

Even though the bright moon phase meant the stars weren’t as visible as they could be, the view was still mesmerizing. Jasper’s expertise shone through as he effortlessly switched from discussing the moon’s beauty to engaging in a detailed conversation about volcanic hotspots with a geology student.

The highlight for me was capturing a photo of the moon through the telescope, a memory that will forever remind me of this incredible night. The experience was so enriching that I found myself wanting to return, to absorb even more of the knowledge and wonder that Jasper so generously shared.
