Setting Sail on a Family Adventure

As a travel writer and a mother of three, I’m always on the lookout for activities that promise both fun and learning for the whole family. Our recent trip to Lanzarote led us to the Best Boat Trip and it was an experience that truly lived up to its name. The anticipation was palpable as we arrived at the marina of Puerto Calero, ready to embark on a catamaran adventure to the stunning Papagayo beaches.

Upon boarding, the crew conducted a brief safety briefing, which initially seemed a bit regimented. However, it was clear that their priority was our safety, and once the briefing was over, we were free to explore the boat. The kids were thrilled to receive pirate bandannas and temporary tattoos, a delightful touch that set the tone for a day of adventure.

The sail to Papagayo was smooth and scenic, with the azure waters and the gentle breeze creating a perfect backdrop for relaxation. Anchored near the Papagayo beaches, the catamaran transformed into a floating playground. The crew set up slides and ladders, inviting everyone to plunge into the crystal-clear waters. My children, aged 6 and 8, were ecstatic, and I couldn’t resist joining them in the fun. The water was refreshing, and the sight of colorful fish swimming around us was mesmerizing.

Snorkeling gear was provided, and we spent a good amount of time exploring the underwater world. A tip from a fellow passenger to drop some bread into the water proved to be a hit, as we watched schools of fish swarm around us. It was an educational moment for the kids, who were fascinated by the marine life and eager to learn more.

One of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity to ride a jet ski. Each passenger was given a chance to experience the thrill of speeding across the water, and it was an exhilarating experience for both the kids and myself. The crew ensured that everyone was safe and comfortable, making it a memorable part of our day at sea.

A Feast at Sea

As the sun began to dip towards the horizon, it was time for lunch. The crew prepared a simple yet delicious meal of pasta, salad, and bread, which was served on deck. The open bar offered a selection of drinks, including a refreshing punch that was a hit with the adults. It was a perfect way to refuel after a morning of activities.

The relaxed atmosphere on board allowed us to unwind and enjoy the stunning views of the coastline. The kids, now tired from their adventures, settled down with their bandannas and pirate tattoos, recounting their favorite moments of the day.

Reflecting on our experience, I can confidently say that the Best Boat Trip is a must-do for families visiting Lanzarote. The combination of adventure, relaxation, and family-friendly activities made it a highlight of our holiday.
