Additional Information

From scorching demises to drowning ends: In this cemetery trek spanning 1.5 miles, we intertwine known facts about the ancient inhabitants with solid tales from more recent eras. Our speculations about the feared and avoided landmarks of the old inhabitants are based on interpretations from our mediums and noticeable peculiar occurrences.

As a seasoned scribe wrote, every narrative has a spectral conclusion. Our phantoms are innumerable.

Its current name is Oregon; however, “ourigan” was the native land of countless ancestral inhabitants. They have left an aura of mystery, mirrored in stories from the inception of our documented history to the contemporary era.

We commence with ancient calamities and narrate various ghost stories we’ve gathered, from scalding deaths to those in the proximal river; from self-triggered ends to deaths caused by the government or a wealthy person’s remorse. Our path navigates the inner eastside - a part of the city that had witnessed the most catastrophes in Portland & where multiple initial settlers were laid to rest.

Location
Revolution Hall
Southeast Stark Street
We meet at 1300 SE Stark, at the building's formal entrance, on the western side of the building closest to the dog park (the downtown-facing side of the property)

Great storytelling from a women’s history lens - Unusual and deeply respectful take on ghost tours, looking at history and intimate stories from a lens of the tales of marginalized and women’s narratives. I’ve taken a lot of ghost tours and this one was less spooky hauntings but more stories of spirits. Well told.

Cemetery History Tour (no ghosts) - It’s a fascinating old cemetery and the guide knows a lot of history of the city and the people that are buried there. But there are no ghost stories.
