Great Day in the Riviera Maya! - We had an amazing day visiting the Mayan ruins in Tulum, swimming in a cenote, and snorkeling with sea turtles! Our guide, Terry, was incredibly knowledgeable and has a true passion for sharing the history, landscape and culture of the Riviera Maya. He made sure our day ran smoothly and that fun was had by all!

A great alternative to Chichen Izta - This is a really great trip if you’re looking to get a snap shot of some of the beautiful sites in the Rivera Maya. The waters weren’t super clear due to weather conditions but the guides were great and helped us see lots of turtles. The rest of the trip was perfect and well organised. Our guide Jared was very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged. Lunch was also very good and great it’s included. It was slightly frustrating to spend an hour going through the ‘check in’ process before being allocated onto our bus but once we got going I couldn’t fault it. Perhaps they need to work on a better system to collect people or have a couple of easy meeting points instead? Overall would do again!

Tulum/Turtles/Cenotes - Excellent tour. Very efficient considering the large crowds of people at this time of year. Very knowledgeable and attentive tour guide.

Great guide and experience - It was a lot of fun. Herlan, our guide, was very knowledgeable on Mayan history, as well as what to be aware of at each stop. He was a very upbeat person and it made the day all the better. I do wish we could have spent a little more time walking around the ruins, but other than that, everything was great!

Missing details wouldn’t book again - We enjoyed each location we visited however a lot of things were not matching what we originally booked. For example the description stated we would receive a box lunch and we didn’t. We were picked up at 7 am and our food stop was the last stop close to 4pm and it was a buffet style place that fed the crew first. We were traveling with a group of kids and adults and everyone was starved. You are NOT allowed to bring plastic water bottle into tulum ruins which wasn’t stated and so that was a rough hour hiking around with kids and no water. The swim with turtles was great but very fast paced, each location we only had about 45 minutes to an hour. Lots of driving and at first when they told us the bus was our locker room we were excited to not lug out stuff around however several people from different groups were missing cash out of their bags by the end of the day. Wouldn’t book through Viator again and wouldn’t choose an excursion with so many things.

Worse than I expected. - Something disappointing. The visit to Tulum was too short and with few explanations. Akumal, overcrowded, too many people. Years ago that experience was much wilder. The cenote, not the most beautiful and you had to pay 4 USD extra to bathe.

Ok experience, but probably wouldn't do it again - Picked up from our hotel brought and early and dropped off in playa at the office. Waited a good hour there and then put on another bus to pick up more guests at a few more hotels on our way to Tulum. Tulum was hot hot hot. As expected this times of year. Bring comfortable shoes. Walking on uneven ground for an hour or so. Our guide Michael was great. Very clear English and funny too. Next stop was akumal for sea turtle snorkeling. Wear your swimsuit from the beginning of the day because nowhere to change besides the back of the bus. It was packed. Saw a few turtles and fish. But water was very murky because there were so many people. Next was the cenote. Wasn't planned at all, which was nice. $4 extra to rent a life jacket for the activity. Could jump off 2 platforms 15ft and 18ft. Beautiful, clear water. Very refreshing. After we headed to the restaurant where we enjoyed a nice meal. Nothing special with the food. Good service and friendly staff. Overall is was an ok experience, but probably wouldn't do it again. Wish the Delta vacation would have included all details of excursion.
