Tala Reserve Exceptional experience, but it came with some literal and figural bumps in the road! - The tour was very overbooked but they accepted all bookings so we were 150+ people squeezing into mediocre small buses. We were coming off a cruise that was not originally meant to dock in Durban which is why this happened as they wanted to serve us all. It was quite obvious that the same company has many profiles to open various tours but actually we were all under African Safari. Us and two other couples' names were not listed because of this, but in the end they realised that 'Africa Tournet Safari' was actually African Safari company and they accepted us onto a bus. Because of this mess, instead of a 6 hour tour we ended up on a 9 hour tour as they took all 150 people to the same which also included phezulu park. At first we were annoyed about this as they were on upfront that this would happen, but they claimed this was so that they make sure we visit all parks. In the end we went with the flow and had a good time. The drive to the lion and elephant park was quite scary, especially with a very old bus that seemed like it could break down at any moment. I personally did not enjoy the lion park and elephant park. It is a tour of a few minutes as there are about 10 lions all in the same place that we drove around in the same bus. And just two elephants which you can get off and feed. Both parks to me seemed like for profit experiences, however the animals do have plenty of space. The reserve however made the entire trip worth it. It is a true reserve and was a beautiful experience. It made the tour and journey worth every penny and I would definitely visit again. We saw so many beautiful animals in their natural habitat with the giraffes aa the highlight.

Unprofessional behaviour - Unfortunately, I can't say anything positive about this tour! Despite prior arrangement and double confirmation that I will be picked up at the hotel at 8:00 am, I sat there from 7:50 am to 9:00 am without being picked up. Multiple contacting on my part via landline mobile phone, tripadvisor messaging and WhatsApp I did not receive a reply and did not know if anything else was happening. Only a few hours later I got a message that she apologized and unfortunately the tour could not take place. This is not professional behavior. Since I only had this one day in Durban, I didn’t have a chance to book another tour either.
