Our guide was fantastic.... - Our guide was fantastic. We toured the gardens first to miss the rain then went inside. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

The only way to go! - So helpful to be able to skip the line and have a guided tour! If you have time to rent a golf cart for the gardens that seemed like fun. Had a wonderful meal at a crepe restaurant right outside the palace.

Smoothly run tour - Imad was a fantastic tour guide! Kept things informative, while humorous. Also navigated the crowds at Versailles expertly.

Good tour, but wished we knew these helpful details before booking ... - To start, one of the reasons I'm giving this tour 4 stars instead of 5 stars is due to current circumstances at Versailles that the tour guide and tour guide company could not prevent. Due to getting ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics, there is a good bit of construction causing some areas to be off-limits inside and a bit of an eye-sore in the gardens (fountains not operational). What we liked: 1) Tour guide was very informative and he even told us which rooms we needed to watch for pick-pocketers. 2) Learning the historical significance of Versailles, including how it's used currently. 3) Having the flexibility to take the train back instead of the bus, if desired (or if missed the leave time). We did this and took the extra time to walk around the town of Versailles, have lunch in the town, and then walk to the train station to get back to Paris for only $5 USD each. What we wished we knew before: 1) That there was a lot of construction going on, especially on the garden fountains in preparation for the upcoming Olympics. 2) That we would have the flexibility to take the train back instead of the bus. We would have made reservations at one of the 3, Michelin star restaurants for lunch ahead of time. They were all, of course, booked solid, when we tried to go day of. We enjoyed walking the town and seeing other historical buildings on a self-guided walking tour. 3) Since this tour is a self-guided garden tour for 1-hour (if you take the bus back), that there is on way to walk the gardens in any amount of time. It's massive! Instead, there is an option to rent golf carts to drive the gardens. The line to rent them was 45 minutes but there is an option to rent ahead of time on the Versailles palace website. Wish we had known! Now you do. Definitely do this! We took the small train instead and it does not go through the gardens, but around the perimeter instead, which was disappointing. Only use the small train if you plan to get off at one of the stops for lunch or the park. 4) Even though this is a small group tour, you travel by bus with all of the small groups together. Not that big of deal, but we thought we would only be with 8-12 people and not a bus. Lastly, this may be sacrilege, but we enjoyed the chateaus we toured in the Loire Valley more than Versailles ... far less crowded, very interesting architectures, equally interesting histories of the royals inhabiting them, more access to the rooms (kitchens, childrens' rooms, chapels, etc.), and gardens not under construction.

Not a train excursion - The guide Wei was fantastic. He maneuvered the crazy crowds and the delay in entry beautifully- sending us to the gardens during the delay so we would not miss them. Unfortunately the other 2 groups from our bus were not so lucky. They waited in line during the delay and then had the choice of either missing the gardens or missing the bus back and having to pay their own train transportation. The tour is advertised as a train trip to Versailles. Not sure why it was changed to a bus with a specific departure time that doesn’t work with the crowds be delays in entering the palace.

Great tour guide, delays in schedule shortened our time - We’ll start with the positives. The tour guide, Ahmed, was amazing. He was engaging, interactive, took questions along the tour, and moved at a great pace. At the end of the tour he offered to take everyone’s pictures. He really made the experience wonderful. The time flew by. Versailles is beautiful and we recommend everyone visit. Now, the negatives. Rather than training like the excursion description stated, a chartered bus was provided. That was fine except that to return on the bus you had to leave at a prompt time or pay for your own train ticket back. Because we sat in so much unexpected traffic, we arrived at Versailles more than 30 minutes late. We then waited in the skip the line line just to enter and then for the bathrooms prior to tour start. By the time we finished the tour we had no time left to explore the gardens if we wanted to ride the bus back. We understand traffic is unpredictable, but suggest that more time be allowed in the schedule for unexpected delays.

Uneventful experience - Too expensive for a 90 minute tour. Our bus was about 25 minutes late so everything was cut short. The tour operator was knowledgeable

Would not recommend! - Our guide, Veronica, was excellent.—she was informative and did the best she could in terrible conditions. Unfortunately the crowded conditions with too many tours all at once had us standing outside in a crush for a long time.! By the time our group got inside and completed the restroom stop before the tour started it was nearly 11 and we had to be back at the bus by 12:30 sharp. For $230 for two us this was the worst tour we experienced in our travels. Would not recommend!
